Howard County is overcrowded, bad traffic anytime of day or night, got lots of homeless, schools aren’t #1. Dangerous areas in Columbia by mall, Owen Brown . High property taxes and Howard County is a sanctuary county. Lived here for most of my life till had move cause it’s so expensive even with a great paying job.
I lived in the Columbia for 18 years and it’s actually 20 min to Baltimore City and 30 min to DC depending on rush hour. In rush hour yes add another ten min . However , if you live in Ellicott City northern Howard County it will be 30 min without traffic going to DC.
I grew up in Ellicott city graduated from Mount Hebron high school , and hung out in Mt. Airy. I love this video it brings back so many memories of home.
I commuted to DC for 25 years on the PENN Line and Camden Line Rail? Awesome! Even if you need to drive leave early and drive to Greenbelt Metro in 15min from Elkridge. Getting home 95, Rt1, 295, Rt29, New Hampshire Ave lots of options back roads if traffic.
Great video . The only thing I’d mention is although Howard County is extremely diverse , the public school system is pretty prejudice. I personally attended elementary , middle and high school in Howard County . I was a great student but like any other young boy learning themselves, found myself impressionable and at times in trouble for petty behavior. Howard High was a great school but unfortunately treated their black male population like criminals, have a horrible athletic program and focus solely on children that have a parent backing before giving you support in anything . Outside of that Howard County is extremely friendly , safe & clean.
I’m born in Montgomery county my parents were born in Pakistan and migrated a long time ago. We moved to Howard county when I was 2 and my sister was around 12 days old, Today, I’m 11 turning 12 this year (Happy new years 🥳🧧🇨🇳) And so far through it, Howard county is one of the best county’s (in Maryland) and obviously I’ve been to othe countries and states, and yes I’m currently in Howard County ❤💛💚🤍 ❤🤍💛🖤Maryland🖤💛🤍❤️
