John, I stumbled upon this video looking for synth riffs, from the golden era of synth rock. Trying to find my way back to a song I think was by Styx, it had some awesome synth sections, but the song I was after I think the synth section was towards the end just an awesome piece of music, I wish I could rember the song. Anyway, I took some time to listen to you and wow , man, you got a nice voice, hope you've done something with it. Thanks for sharing this neat song!.
One of the best instructional keyboard videos I have seen, EVER...and I watch many. Camera placement is great. The way you break it down into simple parts is excellent! Very nice work! This may be a bit off subject, but I noticed your keyboard didn't move around at all. What stand are you using? I have to chase my Yamaha all over the place. The Steinway however doesn't move:)
Boy, you very obviously play a lot of Styx in the band you play with, very, very nice indeed, I've played their music as a drummer, a lot to play but great fun, now I'm learning it as a keyboardist, had to stop playing drums.
Hey, great job...just show the parts, let people rewind the tape if they don't get it at first, awesome! I always wondered what those descending chords were, A to G, but different inversions!
@yareyoufat I went to performance mode and used a percussion organ and rock organ together. That was on a Motif 8 and they've got more options now but anything generic would be good. Those XS8s are great.
I really want to play the piano(good). but I can't get everything "organized" it's like I look at the music, and can't relay what I'm reading fast enough to play! also, what sound did you use for Lorelei? I have 2 cheap keyboards but hopefully one of them has something close.
