Let me tell you something, I had the chance to use one of these whilst on tour in Afghanistan. Croatian troops stationed there had this gun and they were nice enough to let us have a go. Awesome piece of weaponry of extremely high quality and accuracy. The Croats were better equipped than we Australians. Every Aussie soldier in our platoon had nothing but praise for this gun and hopefully our government will try and source these from Croatia.

don't they are doing the same shit as the G36, there is to much plastic between the barrel and the rail, once this thing gets hot the plastic will deform and aiming will become impossible. Same as with the G36.

For my opinion the best bullpup. Styer, Tavor etc they are good, but HS Produkts took the best from all these and other modern assault rifles and made a dream gun.

Indeed it seems to control almost exactly the same as a FA-MAS and minimal re training would have been required and it seems to combine the best of both the FA-MAS and the HK416 !
I'm french and really ashame of this, the vhs is a really cool looking gun aswell as really modular one nearly perfect for our army but the point of the hk deal was only political...
I was talking to another person that was in the French Navy, and what you said is exactly what they said as well.
They said the Famas had its problems but French service members liked them for a multitude of reasons.

And christ it's the avatar of the french army and we're surrending (i hate this word) it to merkel such a loss to the french identity.
It's a shame our government closed all of our means of production of armament so we can't recreate a domestic assault rifle.
As someone who's fired my fair share of full autos that gun is definitely hovering around 900-1000rpm.
I used this same rifle (VHS-2 K) alot, and it's great. Low recoil, precise as hell, reliable, easy to disassemble, also supports grenade launcher. It's pretty heavy for such a small rifle but you get used to it quick. Put a holo sight on it and you are ready to go

Iraqi special forces use this rifle too. VHS first was designed in 2003 and VSH-2 as improved version later I believe in 2013. I hope HS Produkt brakes away from Springfield and start importing all of their guns them self’s just as Zastava did.

They ISOF where created to be used in insertion raids getting high profile targets kind of the like Osama raid same way as seal team 6 but instead ISOF was used in the role as shock infantry or light elite infantry seeing constant combat in Mosul, Ramadi and Tikrit. They are by far the most battle hardened special force unit currently in the world.
Name me another SOF force in the world that has seen combat constantly for months ?

The VHS really looks so much like if someone said "What would a FAMAS look like if H&K made it today?" and just made a custom skin for a FAMAS in a video game.
It's a stroke of genius, of course, and HS Produkt probably made the right choice in making their gun so close to H&K's aesthetic. With the popularity of the G3 and G36 in Europe and the Mid East, it might have a leg up just on 'feeling' alone. So much for bullpups going out of style!

Mr. Vickers, I think it can not be said enough how much I appreciate that you and your team have listened over the years when people asked for a reasonable mix of real time and slow motion filming of the working guns. Earlier YT vids were definitely heavy on the slow motion but you've vastly improved since the early days. Thanks!

If it works well enough with those magpul D60 drum mags then use one of those and presto, you have a real helghast Sta 52 rifle. The fictional helghast rifle also uses the same 556 nato cartridge as well.

@@adelraad891 They bought 20.000 of those to equip their special forces and rapid response units.
@@adelraad891 You can find many videos of Iraqi special forces using the VHS. Much preferred over the AK by the special forces there.
The Kurdish Peshmerga fighters in Iraq also received a whole bunch of weapons and equipment (bulletproof vests, helmets etc.) from Germany including G36 and G3 assault rifles.
Additionally they also received Milan anti-tank missiles, Panzerfaust 3 anti-tank rocket launchers, some MG3 machine guns, old P1 pistols and hand grenades.
0:43 Minor detail, they make a 18.1" and a 16.1" version of the gun, but the 16.1" is used in the video.

Is it me or is this weapon everything you would want?
It's a bullpup so the mag is behind the trigger making a more compact while still having a full length barrel and less chance of smacking it against something in houses.
And THEN there is also left/right handed ejection ports dealing with dexterity
AND THEN the rate of fire is high so you can put more bullets down range and if yuo want less rof just burst to your hearts content
And eventhough it has a high rof there is STILL no recoil to be seen.
But if they are going to switch to 6.8mm then I want this gun to be chambered in it

This gun needs to be liscenced to an american company for domestic production here. I'd buy one of those in a fucking heartbeat. The way they're set up, during automatic fire it doesn't really want to rise. This is the coolest bullpup i've ever seen. It's too bad it isn't in 6.8 and in the military trials right now for the M4/M16 replacement.

There is no civilian version of this gun. They make them only for military purposes.
@@themud706 lots of military purpose weapons (milspec) are cut into parts kits demilled and reassembled in the us and sold as semi auto clones with us barrels and receivers so yet it is totally possible to see these bought in if Springfield pushes HS Produkt to import them

For what the semi auto version would likely cost on the U.S. market I'd rather just get a high end AR-15. Maybe an LMT, LWRC, etc.
In the semi-auto world we live having a gun like this will only satiate a cool factor. In full auto this thing is SICK, but it's just another gun when its semi-auto only.

Yes. VHS has a magazine housing which is held by one pin. The housing can be changed to fit AR mags. It can be seen on firearmsguide video if I renember correctly

Springfield Armory teased an import/release of this weapon today when they tweeted out a picture of a stack of VHS tapes. It's apparently slated to take AR mags, AR pistol grips, have an Mlok handguard, and be called the "Hellion".

this gun was proposed to replace the Famas... But we took the Hk416.... What a mistake
it's not a mistake at all, HK m416 is a solid platform and well proven in combat. This is new stuff not completely proven in combat, so far Iraq military is using them, but time will tell.
@@sammasic5849 Yes but with this platform it would have been nice due to very minimal re training required look at how similar it is to a FA-MAS it pretty much is what a new gen FA-MAS would have looked like if MAS were still here !
The HK416 is around 3.8kg which is somewhat heavier than the VHS-2. To get to the same weight as the VHS the barrel length has to be chopped back to around 35cm. So barrel mass aside, the 416 is heavier than the VHS. Not a deal breaker considering the weight of the gear that soldiers lug around these days, but grams turn to kilos and kilos turn into pain on the march. And soldiers carry a gun for far longer than they spend time firing it.
Let's be real here. The French government wanted the 416F because:
- MAS had gone out of business due to decades of neglect
- Germany offered substantial "offsets" (bribes) as well as dangling the prospect of EU military spending kickbacks (you scratch my back, I scratch yours)
- French SOF had already had experience with the rifle and this was probably the tipping point for the French armed forces to adopt it en masse.
But if France had left a shred of its national pride it would have kept MAS going and tried to license manufacture whatever rifle won the competition through MAS. As it stands, a century of arms manufacturing has been left to rot in the name of neoliberal market worship.
The problem is that it only was a political choice, as the French government is currentrly the biggest German cock sucker. Pretty much all the other platforms presented during the tests were smarter choices for the French army. They didn't even pick the long barrel HK416, they picked short barrels for the regular army in order to maintain a platform which has rougly the same lenght of the FA-MAS, but with half the barrel lenght of it, and everyone knows that short barrels with 5,56 definitely doesn't perform very well outside of a dense urban environment. France has a long tradition about maintaining the worst leadership as they possibly can.

Been saying this for years but the fact that Springfield doesn't import this in semi auto is mind boggling given their relationship with HS Produkt. They seem to be floundering as a company and have a "me too!" attitude copying everyone else for new products. No one wants more generic AR-15's, we already have a million options for those! This is a no brainer even if they are $2000 I would buy one, hopefully less though. They are unique and like the Famas and G36 had a baby lol. Probably as close as I would ever get to a Famas sadly.

first time I ever saw this thing was when playing FC5, been obsessed with it ever since I found out it wasn't just a FAMAS redesign from Ubisoft to avoid licensing.
