Hated gold pins...sucked that Robert Smith had to go through so many injuries😔😔...had so much promise and he put so many revs on the ball back then! 😎😎
I loved the gold pins. They should bring them back now. The balls are way too strong for normal pins now.
Maximum Bob was one of my favorites from this era, nice guy too. Met & got his autograph just before the TV finals of the 2006 US Open. Unfortunately, (from what I heard at least) fibromyalgia cut his career short.
He’s back bowling the senior tour now. Made match play at the senior masters today. He has a CZcams channel.
I didn't necessarily mind the crowds from this time period of the PBA because in most cases there's lots of noise going on when you bowl but I never cared for those gold pins myself.
