  • Neil Adams is retired British judoka, who competed in -71 and -78 kg weight categories. These days Neil Adams is better known for his commentary of Judo competitions, but back in his competitive day he was one of the best judokas in the World. He was 2-time Olympic silver medalist, 1-time World Champion and silver medalist, 2-time bronze medalist and 5-time European Champion. N. Adams was master in both Tachi Waza and Ne Waza techniques. He was famous for his deadly Juji Gatame and brilliant Tai Otoshi and Uchi Mata throws.

Neil Adams, a fantastic Judoka and a very honorable person. A total credit to the teachings and philosophy of Judo. It's a shame to see how low competitive Judo has fallen at present time. Sure there are still some great Jodoka, particularly the Japanese, but also an awful lot of time-wasters, spoilers and shido merchants. All the nonsense of not allowing your opponent to take a grip is a real pain. Sometimes it's like watching a game of pattacake.
