    This was so inspiring! I love everything about this, I get so discouraged sharing my meals because my kitchen is always a mess but this is getting me hyped to do it! I think it's so important for there to be more black creators sharing their approach to living plant based!

    Since starting a plant based diet, my migraines stopped as well as my joint pain. I was shocked! I stopped eating meat because one day the texture of the chicken I was eating grossed me out and since then, I NEVER went back.

    I’m a new follower! Love your videos! I went vegan as well bc my FIL has dementia and my mom kidney failure and first thing doctors told them is to go plant based. That’s why I became vegan too! Im taking care of me now not when I’m old just like you! Your recipes look so yummy!

    I make my own salad dressings. I use to make one off the miso container that was delicious. I omit the oil and it was still good. I've made carrot ginger dressing too. I usually skip the oil. I've made roasted red pepper salad dressing and sometimes I use raw red peppers as well. Sometimes I used balsamic vinegar I get from this place called midtown olive when I don't feel like making any salad dressing. They have a lemon one that I put on my potatoes so good. I wish I knew how to even put makeup on because the older I get the worse my racoon eyes look. I would love to wear it just to cover that up.

    I love making my own dressings! My favorite is an Italian, especially if I have some vegan parmesan shreds on hand. I also love making a tahini dressing: tahini, maple syrup, lemon juice and soy sauce and a little water to thin it out.

    We are Besties for sure! You are so naturally beautiful. I love your spirit. Next time fry your own taco shells. I am from California and moved to Arkansas 7 yrs ago. I noticed those prepackaged shells were normal out here. I am use to frying my own, they taste much better IMO.

    I so agree, I don't eat vegan but I cut out inflammatory foods and eat a lot of whole foods. It has cleared up health issues I never realized I had.

    my favortie salad dressing to make just has fresh squeezed orange and lemon juice, tahinni, cloves of garlic, and salt. I love it (and use it as a dressing on the chickpea pancakes). and I don't buy those shells anymore because they always come brocken!

    Hummus dressing is one of my favorites to make. Just Hummus, lemon juice, a little maple syrup and spices. Also, avocado lime dressing. Avocado, lime, cilantro, garlic, spices and a touch of oil. 🤌🏾

    Nice video and thank for letting us know why you went vegan/plant based. I’m doing it for my health and I’ve tried telling family members and friends but they don’t listen except for the one with diabetes. Great recipes and makeup tips😊. I need that Dutch oven too, again thanks!

    I like mustard, olive oil and red wine vinegar as a salad dressing when I make my own. I purchased the plant based brand of Caesar from Kroger the other day though and it wasn't bad. I usually get the spicy ranch.
    We do the same thing with our meals since my wife isn't vegan.
    I changed for health reasons but my doctor's answer was to prescribe a pill, which I didn't want. I was vegetarian for years so decided to try vegan and it worked.

    Hi Shakayla, love your love for food. I make my own salad dressings too. Very often I just throw together soy Jogurt, Paprika hummus, lime juice and spices. That’s it. I love creamy dressings so actually I always use Jogurt as a base. Sometimes I add mustard, sometimes I add sweetchilisauce, sometimes I add mayo , sometimes I add soysauce and peanut butter. I love salad dressings. Salads would be nothing without it. And by the way I think a lot of people don’t like capers but I love the, just as much as you do

    Was there at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront the week of Memorial Day and we didn't visit that rooftop restaurant but did visit Tulu on the main level several times!! We also visited Esoteric due to watching one of your prior videos. We really enjoyed the food!! We will certainly go back!!

I initially did it for my health but once I researched into the animal agriculture industry and other animal products industries I decided it's now for the animals in addition for my health.     Awe, I loved this video! I have wanted to hear how you began a vegan diet, so glad you shared! And you cracked me up with that forehead and “It’s like I’m holding a gun to your head”, lololol. Your forehead was fine! Clean skin, lol.
    I eat a plant based diet, with no oil or any meat/cheese alternatives - I am starting my journey later in life than you are, and I had a lot to undo in order to get healthy and prevent some future events as well.

    I'm struggling with my vegan journey lately. There's not a lot of places I can stop by and grab something on the go except maybe french fries. I do cook often but for the times I'm driving and out and about its a struggle or if I want a snack/sweet it's hard to find vegan cupcake places or bakeries but they may be vegetarian but not vegan.
    Just hitting a wall lately. Any advice!
    The past few days have really been a struggle after visiting my mom and my brother came hime from overseas. She cooked a lot but nothing was vegan so I found myself either not eating or dashing out to grab something (fries again) to put on my stomach for lunch. I did cook maybe one meal but for the most part I struggled. I don't struggle much at home because I can cook and there's a couple of vegan restaurants nearby.

      Hey, I’ve been in this situation before and the times I know I’m not going to be in places with restaurants I stack on fruits and veggies and peanut butter or some kind of peas. I just got really raw for the time being out and knowing high protein veggie foods to keep me going.
      I stopped getting French fries because I realized some places like McDonald’s actually uses milk in their French fries and it’s disheartening hahaha
      I hope others can share some other solutions with you

      haha i always say bout my friends...oh they are not vegan YET! Cos the more yummy vegan meals they eat, the more they LOVE to eat vegan! And the closer they get to transitioning over to full time plant based.
      So your Mum may not be plant based YET but hey you never know! : )

    Whaaat the lid is a grill pan😱..I've made salad dressing I would love to make my own dairy free ranch..I also eat gluten free would love a good pliable bread! I LOVE MRS. DASH! I eat those shells also it's made from cassava flour they are DELICATE!

    I wish I heard more doctors tell me to eat more plants instead of taking a bunch of medications 😭 I definitely decided to go plant based because I just know that diet is tied to health

    What vitamin C and serum do you use?

      The vitamin C is from OLEHENRIKSEN and the Serum is from Good Molecules. I just started using both of those brands maybe a couple weeks ago so I can't vouch for them fully yet but I always use a vitamin C and a serum.
