- In this video I went with Capt. Ryan Lambert to explore a Ducks Unlimited Coastal Restoration project in Buras, La. We caught some fish and I cooked them up into a delicious po boy.
Jared, my son is 2 and we watch your videos when he wakes up from his nap. He loves them! I appreciate how you keep your videos clean and don’t use profanity. See you on the water!
Great video. Really enjoyed hearing the passion in Ryan Lambert's voice.
That is nice to see the land rebuilding it self and these fine people help and restore the area those white fish look good to nice size good video to thanks for the show!
Thank you brother. God bless.
My company was one of the contractors with DU on this project. Glad to see everyone's hard work actually being appreciated!
Very cool! Thanks for your hard work
Heck of job Larry.
Man I love this video. I knew there were projects going on to help restore the coast, but its amazing to see it in action.
Thanks bud
Excellent video. I love seeing this new land being created. Hopefully these projects continue and this area is enjoyed for generations to come.
Thanks for the support!
Just came across your video at the end you mentioned my wife was pretty crazy hearing her name keep up the good work for our parish 👍
Your doing a great job keep at it
very good project im from louisiana but never heard of this project good thing we have people like you
Appreciate you!
Few have more passion for the South Louisianan wetlands than Ryan Lambert
True that
Hello great video. Love watching yall videos.
Always appreciate you
Great video Jared, just recently came across your channel and I am hooked. I am a fellow Louisianan and can relate to your content. You are an great asset to St. Bernard Parish! Your visits to the restaurants in the parish has already caused two road trips with more to follow. BTW, Ryan sold me my first pistol 39 yrs ago when he owned a outdoor shop in Boutte, La. Looking forward to catching up to date with all your videos, keep them coming!
Man thank you so much for the kind words. God bless you
Great video. More proof that river diversions do in fact build land. Uhlan Bay is now becoming Uhlan Bayou from the Mardi Gras cut a little bit upriver from Bay Denesse.
Well said. Thanks for the support
Been watching all your videos. Really enjoy them. No crabs or shrimp where I live😢 We have to put up with perch and walleye😏
I'm from Chalmette, thanks for bringing me back home
Yes ma'am. Thank you for watching.
Love the video very awesome and you forgot to make my poyboy looks awesome saying HI from Saltillo Mississippi
Heck yeah! Thanks man
Another solid video Jared! I liked how Ryan just flipped that fish on the deck for you to deal with and started casting again.
Dude said this MY boat lol
I’ve been watching your videos. Great job. You are taking me back. My dad and I used to launch at Mellerine’s with Lionel and Adam and run to the back of Lake Lery. We would stretch gill nets across the canals and fish for gar fish. I would bass fish while we were waiting for the gar to hit the nets. Before that we would drive the truck in back of whitehouse canal with a 14x36 flat and a 9.5 evinrude we’d launch off the shell levee and gill net gar in that canal.
That’s awesome. Thank you so much for sharing those memories with me. Wish I could have been around to see it
Great show first watching
Thank you!
This definitely peaks my attention keep doing a great job saving the wet lands/ marshlands
Thanks for watching man
Just found you from DMFD. Glad to subscribe and add another outdoor channel to my subscribed watch list
I’m so honored to have a DMFD fan!
What a great video, conversation at its best!
Thank you for watching
Thank you to all for the services each and every one of you provided!!
My man!
Poboy looks Delicious
Always appreciate you buddy
Been in South Louisiana for a year! I love it here, love fishing, and want to help! Keep up the good work and I'm subscribed!
Thanks so much!
Great video and love to see new marsh being restored.
Amen
Awesome post!
Appreciate you
awesome. once those willows are getting established at height of a person would be great to see fruit trees and berries like black berries, red currants etc being planted amongst it. Not in huge amounts, just enough for them to self seed. Could be done by just plantings fruit seeds if budget was an issue
Maybe so. Thanks for watching
Jared another great video what a good project to see I like your fish sandwich looks so good
Always appreciate you
@@OutsidetheLevees I truly enjoyed it so much thank you for all your time and effort put into your videos they are full of information for other people to use. thank you
Amazing.
Thanks brother!
great project , thanks for reporting on this !!
Thanks for watching
Y'all doin a great thing here. Keep it up!
Appreciate you
Great video! I believe the mud works so much better than dumping millions of gallons of freshwater into the marsh.
Just all depends on the setup. If there’s enough habitat it can filter that freshwater out.
I wanted to get in on this restoration years ago. Would have been a joy to work with all these great ppl to make a difference in habits for waterfowl and shore birds.
Amen brother
Man that looks good
Yes indeed!
Man why can’t we plant some mangrove here. That would be great.
Mangroves do better with higher salinity. I believe they planted something here you can see it in the drone shots.
Good work guys. Pls plant some mangroves. I know they work really well on the islands in the Pacific.
Mangroves need higher salinity. There’s other things could be planted here. I believe they did some planting.
Great show keep up the good work reporting what’s going on in the marsh
Thanks Joe
Rebuild the outer barrier islands. Dedicated pipeline slurry to eastern Barataria-Terrebonne. Thanks for posting.
Well said
Great information!! Great Video!!
My man!!
You need me to help fillet dem fishies!
Please do. Thanks for watching
Can't go wrong with a little KFred seasonings in the batter. 😋
Amen
You are making me hungry. I love fish and that certainly look good. I wish you could email me a piece.
Would love to cook it for ya!
Great video!
Appreciate you homie
For 2 years that’s amazing what a private company can do
For real
You missing the veal. The fried okra. The fried eggplant with artichoke casserole
Damn son. You cooking next time.
Almost looks like our Chesapeake Bay white perch, though larger.
Very interesting
should come down to cocodrie an do some fishing
Maybe one day
Great video sir. What brand trolling motor did he have. The new Power Pole trolling motor? Never seen that head design. Thanks
Yes it is
What a difference
sure is. thanks for watching
You still need to protect the new land from the Nutria rodents - the land destroyers.
You must be one of my subscribers from the nutria video lol
@@OutsidetheLevees It is just not yours, but it is also from BlueGabe & Kelly Young's YB channels.
Awesome! Yes we love to hunt the nutrias. Thankfully I didn’t see any out there yet.
Make Jack a samich too!
I wish he would lol. Straight fish for him.
I shot my first deer down there with a bow in the 80s always used to love going down there.
Man I want to deer hunt down there really bad
U need to talk to the Louisiana sportsman coalition and do a story on why we keep loosing our water access rights
It’s a shame for sure. Maybe one day.
Well established land gets washed away and re-deposited and you call it new land? Makes perfect sense.
The river is literally full of sediment why do you think that what has been deposited was Established land
I’m not 100% positive on this but isn’t like 90% of Bay Denesse private land? Why is DU doing projects on private lands with tax payers dollars. Please correct me if I’m wrong! Great video Jared
That’s actually a great question and something I didn’t think to include in the video. Believe it or not when Ducks Unlimited did the initial planning on it they have proof saying that the state has claimed the water bottoms there but local people are claiming otherwise
@@OutsidetheLevees Right, and what’s bothering to me is, if an average Joe like you or myself try and go hunt in that area, I can almost guarantee someone would try and run us off.
For me the land is barren and if someone invests in the developments and expanding of the land he's entitled to have and control that land, right?
@@tdeaux yep, and our tax payer dollars (mine and yours) paid for that. 🤷🏻♂️
I can promise they did their best to make it a public project. Even paid oyster lease holders so the public could use it.
Plastic man!
I’m sorry brother I don’t know what that means
@@OutsidetheLevees isn't that the guy on the wwl fish and game report with Don Dubuc every Saturday morning that does the fishing report? He has a theme song "Plastic man"
Ahhh. Yes Ryan is on Dons show quite often. I didn’t know about the song lol. Thank you for watching
Very interesting!!
Thanks my dude
