very interesting to hear this. my father comes from a saudi bedouin family, so i hear a lot of stories about bedu lives and how they survived in the desert. our tribes and locations may be different, but at the end of the day, we are humble shepherd families with a lot of pride, tradition, and generational wisdom.

@@emieelreegis4505 I'm from Saudi and bedouin
Aside from being an awesome human being that he is, the Mansaf guy is on point about Bedouin culture. It’s mostly the same values featured in most Bedouin and other rich nomadic cultures.
I liked this video. Very insightful.
The quality of the translation is poor compared to mon amie. This appears to have caused a misunderstanding. When answering the question about the difference between Bedouins and Palestinians, they all answered about the difference between bedouins and farmers or city dwellers (difference between nomads and non-nomads). The arabs in all historic Palestine (Israel and Palestine today) are all one people divided into 3 groups Madani (city dwellers), Fallahi (Farmers) and Bedoui (nomadic people).
I hope this clarifies.
the Bedouin were always a different people to felaheen (what were Palestinian Arabs in ottoman region Palestine). Different Arabic, different customs, songs, culture.. also a different history, including modern history - there were Bedouin tribes that allied with the Jews to keep each other safe when Arab armies and militias threatened them.
@@interestingyoutubechannel1 There is also the same amount of differences between the city people and the felaheen, and between city people and Bedouin too. This is the same class system (if I may call it) across the levant and the wider middle east. Not to misunderstand the bedouins are as Palestinian as the felaheen and city people. In general the city people tend to be more liberal than the felaheen and the felaheel more liberal than the Bedouins who tend to be more conservative (in Israel/Palestine I expect this to mean being anti-Israel).
To be objective I think there are three reasons for the falsely perceived closeness of the Bedouins to the Israeli Jews:
1. The jews migrants who came to Palestine during the british mandate picked only the fertile lands to live on, and avoided the desert where the Bedouins live. So the migrant jews did not directly face the opposition from the Bedouins.
2. During 1947/1948 the zionist armed groups (IDF predecessors) expelled the majority of the Palestinians (85%) from the land that became Israel. For the felaheen this meant depopulating approx 600 villages. Many of the city people were afraid of the zionist armed groups (labelled as terrorists by the British) and left as they had the means to do so by themselves. These who stayed and fought in the cities (like the felaheen) had no chance against the well funded/armed zionist groups. But for the Bedouins because of the their nomadic lifestyle it was not easy for the zionists to locate them and even if they expelled them, they would just move on to another area in the desert. Again the confrontation between the Bedouins and zionists was minimal.
3. In modern Israel, given that the vast majority of Israeli jews are migrants or descendants of migrants who are foreign to the land, they have great difficulty navigating the levant desert in Palestine/Israel. So they have to rely on the indigenous Bedouin arabs in navigation/tracking. Therefore the IDF recruits non-jews only from the Bedouin community for their desert navigation/tracking skills.

Yes, the translator is pretty bad.
The last interview was especially interesting and illustrates the complexity of politics, being Israeli citizens but also Arabs, for the Bedouins.
And black
In Saudi Arabia, there were urban people too and in the past , now there are no longer Bedouins because they have become urbanized and having there own homes, villas and palaces. Education is very high among urbanites of Bedouin origin, including doctors, teachers, intellectuals, and also politicians. Then when we come, are the Bedouins a race, or is it a state of life in contrast to urbanization? In fact, it is a case that reflects the Bedouins more conecting to the land in average, customs and traditions, and preserving their lineage. This has existed since ancient times, that the Bedouins are concerned with many things. They have the boundaries of a specific land and they have sheikhs who preside over them, especially that they are tribal and tribes in the past were like states with borders, politicians, doctors, teachers and many more. Bedouin can be white or brown or black but real bedouins are semitic means middle eastern looking . But black bedouins are mixed with black africans or they're were slaves in the past .
Very interesting. Thank you.
@@dogbert52 you're welcome 👍🏻

According to a scientific genomic study I skimmed through recently, Bedouins have the highest amount of genetic similarity to the Natufians, the first ones to build settlements in the Levant (and according to evidence found until now, in the world), ironically. Perhaps because of their closed culture, they practiced endogamy for millenia, and genetic tests show it, similar to Jews and Palestinians. As a matter of fact, a few decades ago, it was not surprising to find that a Jew or Palestinian married a first degree cousin (although nowadays that's considered distasteful).
these are fallaheen(farmers), not the bedouins as far as I am concerned
Ah. The race scientist has arrived .
@@dogbert52 It's a fact , if you want to know your real origin or root you have to do a Y-DNA test and by knowing your Haplogroup you will know your ancestors and past.

Why didn't you ask the last guy why he couldn't use the land? Zoning issue or something else? Since he placed some emphasis on that, would have been interesting to hear why it was so as well.
You're not Semitic or middle Eastern you know nothing about these topics.
Israeli parliament legislation (like in most modern countries) requires the government to provide for free education, health care, child support, water lines, sewage lines, sewage treatment, garbage collection and disposal, electricity lines, roads, public transportation, police services, social services etc.
It is impossible to provide all these services to hundreds of thousands of people when they are scattered randomly in the desert.
That is why the government has allocated land and built infrastructure with spacious land area for each family, with different neighborhoods allocated for different tribes or separate towns.
Majority have moved to these towns, yet a minority of people and tribes did not.
Some tribes are not willing to share locality with other tribes, some preferer the freedom feeling of the desert with only few to no others in eye sight or just own clan, some hope to get a better deal.
Another issue is polygamy and huge families, which means, that usually, the father cannot support more than the basic needs of his kids, hence poor scholastic achievements and zero inheritance, i.e. Children of poor fathers are likely to be poor. Inevitable results given over 52% of that population are under 18.
It is a clash of an old, extremely tribal, nomadic, government evading culture with the modern state.

how come there is so much differences between the dialects that he can tell if the person is from Jaffo or Ramalah in a place so small like israel. 🤔
unless all this ppl with different dialects are from different arab countries..
Probably because the otomana never invested much in infrastructure, so the peoples ended up not meating much and thus developing their own way of speak which in turn becames the different dialects. Other countries and languages have the same thing as language is always changing from generation to generation.
Spot on. From kurdish to maghrebi to sudanese migrants.... and the funny euro lefties claim they lived there since before the dinosaurs
Do you speak Arabic, or have any linguistic expertise, or are you just going for a conclusion you wish was true? Do you think people in Chicago speak English with a bunch of Polish mixed in? Do New Yorkers speak with Italian or Yiddish mixed in? The idea that entire dialects would carry over and stay the same way in a new place over hundreds of years is something that simply doesn't happen

They’re Arabs, they’re Palestinians but they’re also sell outs and traitors, they join the army that slaughters their own people, because they have more loyalty to the land their in rather than their own blood. The Bedouin motto is I against my brother, my brother and I against my cousin, my cousin and I against the stranger. So they’re ethnically Palestinian Arabs mainly originally from Semitic tribes of the Arabian peninsula that wander the desert and are nomads but semites are all related whether they’re Arabs arameans, Assyrians, canaanites, Hebrews, akkadians, samaritans, amharas, tigryians, ge’ez etc, they’re all semites. The languages are all related and from Proto Semitic so ethnically genetically they’re the same people who just settled in different parts of the Middle East and developed they’re own dialects. Israel invested billoions to preper land for the Bedouine to build . All those lands are standing emty. Prlblem is some tribes wont build in the same place as other tirbes. The layality to the trive is the most important thing. So they prefer to build illeagally and than whine about it. Problem with the Bedouin society today in Israel is that they get married with arab women from Hebron and other cities in the PA territoriy and they bring the extremist education they got there into Israel which is why today Israeli Bedoines are more extreme than they used to be.
