- For those of you who are new to the channel my name is Fen and I am half British and half Libyan and my lovely wife Akasha is American but Czech by blood (hence Culture Clash Reactions)
We're currently on a Sasha Baron Cohen kick at the minute. Once again his genius performance in Bruno had us in stitches.
The host was in on the joke, the audience wasn't
Exactly; this was at a time when Sasha Baron Cohen was still well under the radar in America. He could play characters in America and people believed it was a real person. I remember the time well. I thought it was great that he could wind up America like he had already wound up UK interviewees. The next step for him had to be over the pond where they barely heard of him.
The audience in the show was real, the only people who knew about the skit was of course the staff/security, the host Richard Bey and Sasha Baron Cohen himself.
The premise was that Richard Bey's show had been off the air for a few years and he was supposed to be making a comeback show and this was "the pilot' episode for the return of the series, adverts were placed and the audience were given free tickets to attend the filming so their reactions are 100% genuine.
The audience’s reaction was real. They weren’t in on it. The host knew, but that’s it.

The whole film is a must watch. I saw this in the cinema and a few people walked out within the first 10 minutes. If you wonder how he got out alive of this one, there's load worse 😂

I've never known anyone who can push peoples buttons with such expertise.
He was brilliant in "Sweeney Todd" alongside Johnny Depp.
Both of them are amazing at playing strong characters.
If you haven't already, you should check out 'Who is America?'. It's a show Sacha did a few years back. Some absolutely golden clips from that.

Baron Cohen is a master at making people bite and taking the piss out themselves and showing them for what they are. Like in the borat movie when he sings throw the Jews down a well, it brings out the xenophobia, racism in people.

I've heard a lot of black people say "Don't call us African Americans call us black people", and it was Morgan Freeman or Samuel L Jackson that also said that so I don't, also it was started by white people trying to be politically correct and it spread to both races saying it... if you were shown a photograph of a bunch of black people would you say that's a bunch of African Americans when in reality it is club consisting of black people from England, Ireland, Italy and other European countries but because you were shown it in America you say that's a bunch of African Americans when in fact it's not...see, don't say African Americans just call them black people and you won't get it wrong.
Or just call them Americans because that's what they are and forget about skin colour.
So how woulsnyou racially distinguish Americans then? Aka white (White Americans), black (African Americans), Asian Hispanic Latino etc.@@f3aok

Considering you have mics in front of you you sound very muffled.
Further to that post the sound quality of the whole video is poor.
I find it REALLY weird when black people are homophobic (and vice versa, when LGBT+ people are racist) because it's like YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE to be discriminated against for something that a) there's nothing wrong with and b) you had no choice in
adjust your levels. It's a dealbreaker for me when your content levels are not balanced. I can't like or enjoy. Fix it please.
