Web guns and Heavy Webbers were included in Confrontation, the precursor to Necromunda, but ammo was the big problems as it was randomly traded.

Later, somewhere in 6th edition or so, Forge World gave rules for Eldar vehicles armed with web weapons. I played in a 2000 points fluffy-tournament and got destroyed by someones web blasting Eldars that absolutely destroyed my army of 6 Dreadnoughts.

Cool video! Web guns and pistols actually also exist in the current version of Necromunda: Necromunda Underhive. There they are actually not bad because a webbed enemy can be coup de graced.

It's mentioned below that webbers were in the Adeptus Arbites list in Citadel Journal, along with the rhino-derived Castigator. This was part of a skirmish campaign they did called Covert X, about Space Marine scouts who've gone rogue to stir up the populace against the corrupt authorities. Webbers were great because a lot of the scenarios involved angry rioting mobs (5 civvies to a base), so webbers were an efficient way of dealing with them until they can get a booting from Wh40k's very own Judge Dredds

Love the animations. I was around for their era, but I don't recall ever using a webber either in 40k 2nd or Necromunda - I'd completely forgotten they could be used against vehicles, now I have this glorious mental image of a mekboy taking out Imperial Knights AT-AT style by webbing their legs up.

@@Miniscape-wh40k You could house rule it. Just add-up all the points for the heavy weapons, then divide for an average.
      SPACE MARINES (Ultramarines/Dark Angels)
      Auto Cannon +25pts
      Heavy Bolter +15pts
      Lascannon +45pts
      Missile Launcher +45pts
      Multi-melta +65pts
      Heavy Plasma Gun +40pts
      Total Points 235 ÷ 6 = 40 (39.1 rounded up)
      Heavy Webber +40pts
Granted, when using this formula with Orks the cost is only 22, but that's about right when you compare the price disparities between them and Marines (Ex.there's a 28 point difference for the Multi-melta).

That reminds me of the stupid combo I used back when I was 11 and playing second edition: a Tech-Marine on a bike armed with a Graviton Gun. Very similar rules (if it hits then the model isn't dead but is essentially removed from the game) and had a longer range. I think it had to be a Tech-Marine because of a restriction on the cardboard wargear card though it doesn't look like that rule was mentioned in the wargear book, and the bike was just because he Gotta Go Fast. Someday I'll go back and see if that combo was actually legal 😅

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Webbers of both types are really meant for narrative/roleplay purposes and just didn't survive the change of focus from 2nd-through-4th editions. They really are much more at home in Necromunda (where their intended use cases are much more likely)... and would probably fit right in with Inquisitor.
Are they in Inquisitor, at all? I never played that particular game but I can well imagine an Inquisitor more interested in intelligence gathering and counter-espionage than immediate purging carrying a glue gun to take prisoners for later questioning.

The only web weapon you missed (arguably) was the Malcadon Web Spinner used by the original Necromunda Spyrers. @@Miniscape-wh40k Thank you! The Wandering Fool is very simple but very difficult to explain and put into words. Fool now a derogatory term was once seen as very special, it's where the court Jester came from. See once long long ago and almost lost to history now, the fool/jester of the court was the only one allowed to defy the king through humour! It was to humble the king and remind him of his humanity and short life; This was so the king could rule his people correctly and not succumb to greed and tyranny, by taking himself so serious as to have an ego out of control; This is why you see the fool card in tarot, only good luck finding a tarot reader who knows this.🤣The fool was the only one who could be trusted for this task as the fool, who was far from stupid was more importantly free from desire, hence incorruptible and free of earthly shortcomings/sin. Eventually the fool was seen as a treat to the corrupted and their schemes, so the fools were outcast & killed and left with no home, hence they wandered, ever watching, ever learning, ever teaching, waiting for the day when a true king will be born and when that day comes, the fool will return to guide that king. This is why in folklore you have Merlin & Arthur and all through literature you have sidekicks and as for fools you have wise hermits and wandering monks across all cultures. Sorry for the long answer and even this doesn't really explain anything, it just hints at it.😞
