Never played a souls like game before but I will be trying one for the first time with this game!
I've been waiting for this one since the first trailer a year ago
To be honest, I thought last years trailer looked terrible, but now it looks so good it’s gonna be an instant buy.

While this game has yet to come out, I HIGHLY recommend this studio's previous game - Going Under. It's a roguelike dungeon crawler that's a satire on the startup ecosystem and its effect on corporate culture.
Yes yes yes going under is probably one of my favourite games ever. I love 3D mario titles, ratchet and clank, and some more character driven games like the walking dead. Going under is so so good

Love everything about this game... EXCEPT I think the Voice acting is maybe a bit of a problem. I honestly would've preferred if all the characters spoke in fictional gibberish like they do in Banjo Kazooie and Hollow Knight. The VA work is giving bad anime dub vibes. Everything else looks excellent though!
I think this is the first soulslike ever to be announced in a Nintendo Direct.

The voice acting has put a damper on it for me, I was sold on the feel and aesthetic from when it was first announced but developers seem to stray a little too far from their game's initial presentation.
And I understand the need to try and appeal to a wider audience but sometimes less is more and adding more can either be to a games benefit or the cost of its soul where it no longer feels like what you were first shown.
Still all best to this game.

I'm SUCH a sucker for stories that have a cute appearance but have serious and dark undertones, anything can be a story, even one about a crab getting its shell back. I'm actually pretty into this.

As i much as I commemorate Aggro Crab getting enough funds to include VAs, I can’t get rid of the charm that the “beep-boop” sound chopping they use to simulate talking in their past game entries. I hope that they give that as an option when the game releases. Cant wait!

🍉So as a souls fan just from the marketing it looks like it is geared towards a more casual market which is of course fine but if they do intend for an earlier experience I hope they have built in ways to increase difficulty.

Had my eye on this since Iron Pineapple covered the demo in his “Soulslikes you’ve never heard of” series. Is it gonna have a physical edition? If so I’ll grab it day one.
