I used to see Norm McDonald at Hennessey's in Manhattan Beach on random mornings. My husband and I often ate breakfast there. He was always sitting out on the front patio where we normally sat. He was always alone and always reading the paper. Always kind to his servers; a true gentleman. I was already such a huge fan because Norm was different. I loved his voice, his cadence and his nonchalant approach to any subject. He made me laugh all the time, but the times that I'll remember most were those times when my life was not that great, and he still made me laugh. At my darkest, watching him and laughing, I had an "aha" moment where I realized that I could laugh (out loud) while going through the toughest times, I would be okay. That if I could laugh while everything around me was falling apart, I knew I would ultimately be okay. Thank you Norm McDonald for the gifts you gave that you were completely unaware of . . . The world is definitely a bit dimmer without your human presence. Rest in Peace always. You were and are so loved.

    Love you Norm and Bob.
I just found out about Bob and for some reason, this makes me feel better. I just imagine Norm saying, "Hey Sagat, how did you like that whole cancer bit? People were all like, 'I didn't even know he was sick!' And did you listen to that CZcams video you made? The one you were crying and talking about Dirty Work? Man, and I thought I cried a lot on Letterman's last night."

For once, the CZcams algorithm got a suggestion right. This was a beautiful tribute. Thank you. It's been a long time since I've been this affected by the loss of someone I didn't know personally. Norm was a gift and I'm so grateful for his ability to quickly lift me out of dark places in my head. Love to you and to all those who loved him.

Resonating with what you wrote. I think it was the humanity of him that shined through, but the beautiful genius of his mind, and his complete lack of pretense.

Exactly right. He was an absurdist at heart. He would slowly and teasingly reveal how ridiculous the world was.
He would present himself as a bit of an airhead, a country bumpkin from the frozen North of Canada.
Yet beneath the facade was a giant, beautiful brain that brought laughter into this world.
If you can bring laughter and joy into this world you are a real saint in my book and Norm is a saint. Please God, don't let the funny ones die.

But I can't really express how powerful and impactful it is that you shared this with all of us publicly. Thank you, Bob. RIP Norm, and thank you for this expression of love.

I can tell you right now, he did.
Proof of that was how he would randomly contact people over the internet. Regular people who just posted a video of his and then had some nice things to say about it, he would contact them and tell them how much he appreciated that they liked his comedy.
He contacted these two guys that do reaction videos and told them how much he appreciated them. They made a tribute a couple days ago and talked about it. The channel is "Frankenstein's lab" if you're curious.
Also, Norm couldn't go anywhere without somebody showering him with love.

This has me so mad! Norm was comedy gold with every spoken word! We all have lost someone to cancer and nothing can ever replace those we have lost.. in 74 Nixon paid a medical university in Virginia to prove that cannabis was more harmful to the human body than tobacco and thru that research it was discovered that thc not only stops tumor growth on contact but it also kills cancer cells! But politicians buried that valuable information for their benefit and every cancer related death is on every government official who covered up and still continue to lie about this life saving medicine! I will miss watching and listening to Norm the king of comedy!!!! We love you Norm McDonald!!😪🤬💞
