She broke her pistol. Pete’s record now we know he did it, when no three-point was there, and he did it in three years that will stand forever more than likely but! That record stood for 54 years no one else broke it she did.

I love watching her. Greatest female basketball player ever. But come on man...women and men sports should not be compared.
The difference between NCAA legend and GOAT is a national championship. Alcindor and UCLA were 88-2 with three championships in three years. Taurasi and UConn went 139-8 with three championships in four years. Stewart and the Huskies went 151-5 with four championships.
@@marcdaddy33Alcindor made UCLA into a powerhouse program. UCLA did not qualify for the NCAA tournament his freshman year, then began their streak of seven straight championships as soon as he joined the varsity. If "Larry" is Larry Bird, he played for Indiana State. Finally, Iowa is certainly worthy of a #1 seed, but I don't think that they are overwhelming favorites. Clark is certainly a great player, but I would rather not evaluate her historical importance until she has played her last game for Iowa.

@@marcdaddy33You have vastly overstated UCLA's record before Alcindor became eligible for the varsity. They only made one appearance in the Final Four before winning their first title in 1964. I stand by my comment that Alcindor lifted the program to a new level. UConn had four Final Four appearances and two titles before Taurasi arrived, and eight Final Fours and five titles when she left.
@roberthudson1959 it's a TEAM sport. 1 person can't do it all themselves. What ridiculous statements. She may or may not be the greatest of all time. It has nothing to do with championships. There are between 300 and 400 NCAA division 1 women's basketball teams. Only someone on the championship team is considered great? Give me a break.
Hate to break it to the woke CBS mouthpiece, but as of February 20, 2024, according to the NCAA, The Pistol still holds the record with 3,667 points.
