- The return of 662 Martello from overhaul plus the steam in miniature event was held at Bressingham on the 13/08/16. All 5 lines were in operation:
- Standard gauge Railway operated by 662 Martello
- Nursery Railway operated by Bevan and George Sholto
- Waveney Valley Railway operated by St Christopher
- Garden Railway operated by Alan Bloom
- Miniature Railway operated by Eigiau
There were also lots of visiting traction engines including Bressinghams 2 home based engines. The day was very busy with steam in every direction and plenty of visitors. There was also the East Anglian Garden Railway show happening in the Exhibition hall - Věda a technologie
Martello sounds just like my grandmother's dog.
A real joy to see Martello in action. I'd forgotten she existed! So thanks for sharing.
No problem, Its nice to see Martello working again
Those small steam engines are adorable
But the front and rear windows of the steam locos seem like bulbs on ships. I think this can only happen in england with so nice colours if trains and cars so perfectly restored.
brilliant video. its been a few years since i last visited bressingham i think a trip back may be on the cards now Martello is back in steam. Great stuff I have subscribed and will look forward to future videos
Thanks, bressingham is a wonderful place to visit, steam engines everywhere. Regarding future videos, the winter is fast approaching as well as no steam being local to me, could mean very few uploads I'm afraid, sorry
Awesome video! Its great to see No.662 "Martello" back in action. I hope the locomotive will come to the Bluebell & Isle of Wight Steam Railways next year. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, as a subscriber of yours I really enjoy your content as well. Its nice to know that other bigger CZcamsrs like yourself watch my content
Its a shame that no one has the money or the will to return William Morris to steam.I believe it is the only surviveing standard Guage Garret Loco in the UK What was it used for?
Hi, it was recently acquired by the bressingham steam society so depending on how much work needs doing, they could return it to steam. It spent its working life in Baddesley colliery in the east Midlands and yes it is the only surviving uk Beyer-garratt locomotive
+Suffolk Steam godd news for you both. They own it and are hoping to restore it to take it on to many tours to heritage lines
I hope they do ,but as I attain 73 this month I am unlikely to see it
I am here for the garrant
sorry at the moment it's a static exhibit and the footage I got of it was cut from the final edit
Suffolk Steam oh
