I've bought this receiver for about $30 on banggood on the day they've added it. It makes it really easy to get FPV on your phone.

I've bought this receiver for about $30 on banggood on the day they've added it. There was almost no details on which phones will it work with. But YOLO. The app download link was in Chinese
And there was only one picture. I've received it yesterday and I can say its great! But a bit tricky to set up... You get a micro usb otg cable. And RP-SMA Male antenna. Once you get the right apps installed you just connect it and it works. It has a built in scanner that you activate by holding the button for few seconds.
It will automatically lock to the strongest signal in the area. You can manually adjust frequency by short presses.
To set it up download the fpv.apk to your phone. Link in the description. You will need to let your phone install apps from unknown sources. This is the app we installed. But Go FPV
Is the app I recommend. You can get it from Play store. Link in description The app is still in beta, you might have to restart it for settings to take effect. You can switch between VR and single screen mode. There is also a built-in DVR. Let's see the lag: About 40-80ms. But the coolest thing about it is this: You can turn any phone VR goggles into FPV goggles. Some might have a problem with lag But as a second set for spectators...You decide

why need fpv.apk drivers?
It didn't work on my samsung S6 without installing the fpv.apk first. Not sure why, the drivers are my guess. Try it without. If it works then skip it.

There is no battery in the receiver to charge, but it does get all of its power from the phone.

Oh for F sake. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Just ordered the little orange Eachine DVR to try and add to my EV800 or hook up to a RC832. I also order one of their Easycap USB dongles to try and do the same on my phone. Looks like this does what I want with less mucking about.

I bought one from BG or GB and its labeled "5.8 ghz UVC Receiver" instead of "Gold Receiver". Runs the same GoFPV app. When I've set my racer VTXs for channel A3 (5825mhz). When I scan with the receiver, it stops on 5829 mhz. There is no known VTX channel on 5829 mhz. However, channel B6 (5830 mhz) is closer to that read out than A3 is. I'm wondering how accurate these USB receivers are (I'm using mine on a Galaxy S7 Edge). Some Android devices don't work with it. I works with my S7 and my NVidia Shield K1, but not with my cheap RCA & CUBE 7" tablets.

Hi! I have Rotg01. I was installed programs. When i was plug the ROTG for the phone, programs started, and after 2-5 sec frozen, my phone is also frozen/crashed and after rebooted. With all programs. :(. My phone is always frozen. I tried another phone and there I was freezing. Is the device wrong?

You say that you use it on your Galaxy S8+. I try to use it on my Galaxy S8. Im sure it must be working, if it works on the S8+. But i can not connect. i installed the fpv.apk and the gofpv app.. and i use the adapter wich was in the box from the Samsung.. i think this adapter don´t work with the cable from the receiver.

I can't use wifi for fpv from my gopro (on drone) to see the footage on my phone. If I buy this I just have to plug it in to my phone and it wil work without wifi? So I don't need to plug something in the gopro first for it to work? Just plug it in my phone and I can fly my drone and see the footage on my phone?
Android has laggy APIs for just about anything, mic, cam, usb. It's not suited for that purpose.
Would be interesting to see that on an iphone, iphones have lightning fast APIs more suited for realtime.
My phone has the driver and can use other but all I get is a black screen on every app I use. The phone always recognises the USB USC cam :/ also the quad is powered on.

No idea, I know that the cable doesn't work for me if I plug it the other way around. However, the same device can be used with a regular USB-A to micro usb cable when plugged into a laptop.

so i orderd the exact same one, my phone is a mate 9 with type c usb, then again it comes with two additional adapters which work for data transmission, i just cant seem to get the image to even show me static. the screen just looks black and asks for UVC Drivers, do i need to switch it on it a way before it even works? keep long pressing but shit all happens. does my drone need to have tp cam plugged in and battery which im still waiting on for me to even get static?
You should get static noise even without camera.

You will have to ask on banggood forums. Mate 8 is compatible, mate 9 isn't on the compatibility list.

Move the tx02 further away when you scan for frequencies by holding the button. It will lock better. Make sure your antennas are firmly connected on both sides.

I have no way to check, none of my devices transmit audio.
Upon further checking, the receiver will not be able to record audio, but it looks like it should be able to receive it. At the bottom of it there is video out, audio out, +5 and GND pins. So my bet is that yes you can receive audio.

Hi. Tired both tower and tower beta. As soon as you change to UVC video stream while the dongle is connected the app crashes in both cases. Very similar behavior as the one described here: discuss.ardupilot.org/t/tower-is-crashing-when-using-uvc-stream-android-6-0/15621

I haven't checked the range but it would depend more on the receiving antenna and what you've got on transmitting side. With a clover leaf receiving a 25mw tiny whoop it worked through two walls :D

You will get white noise when there is no signal. Download and install this:

Once installed plug in the receiver and launch the go fpv app. You will either get noise or UVC warning message.

ShitIBuyWhenBored iv had that installed. and i found the pocket fpv app i saw in a few other videos. but there was a warning box for like a millisecond and than its just a black screen with the controls at the bottom for the app.
