- This week we are testing and reviewing the Eachine ROTG02 FPV Receiver. I wanted to see how this compared to the DVR on my Skyzone Goggles. It can be found on banggood for around £20.

The extra port is an AV OUT which you can connect an external DVR(if phone memory is a precious estate) or a goggle with AV IN (presumably the goggle doesn't have diversity and as you have mentioned, with no DVR).
Thanks. I had a feeling it was something like that. But could not find any details.
Appreciate the review though. Been wanting to compare the video quality vs external DVR.
Really nice. I have the ROTG01, without diversity. And I used it with a VR BOX and FPV Viewer and it's great. I only used with a rc car for now, because I didn't build my first quad yet. But I'm going to use with quads too, for a good time. 😊
Is there a big latency?
Yes. For fpv . For recording it would be fine
Interesting piece of kit think I need one. Keep up the good work!
believe me or not the dipole Antennas give out a sharper image than any other type of Antennas, however, it does give about 7% shorter range than other types.
I appreciate you mate! I got the EMAX Transporter googles without DVR or av in/out so this is a BIG help instead of me buying another google. the Tinyhawk is going to be my first quadcopter and i just subscribed!
Are you sure ?? Only Drone Racer Weenies seem fixated on latency rates.
I dig it.
Thanks for the review.
Just want to mention the stock antenna isn't bad at all. As long as I have a good clover leaf on the Cam/Tx the "crappy" dipole works great💖
framerate on the eachine looks much lower compared to the skyzone. the Skyzone comes off as smoother, even with the noisier video
Get! Ordering one now thanks for the vid!
Mine from the left to the right of that plug says: Audio/ Video /5v /GND. I noticed it as well and don't know what it can be used for? I am watching your video to find how to get the receiver connected to the drone through the app. Thanks
You should twist antennas in 90°, if you want to benefit from diversity.
What app does it use
Not much help is available would explain why it's not very popular
I WANT TO KNOW THAT IF A VTX HAVE HIGH POWER OUTPUT THEN IT WILL PROVIDE LONGER THE RANGE OF DISTANCE???ŔEPLY BCOZ I HAVE WRITTEN HERE WITH HOPE
A higher power output transmitter will in theory give you increased range. But there are other factors that may effect your range such as antenna placement, the environment, atmospheric conditions.
@@sawtoothspike Can you name me the Vtx of highest power that have good antannas can be used in a night eagle 2 pro ( a night vision camera )?
@@sawtoothspike Can you say If i have bought a Vtx in home will I get any manual in it which gives us the information about the EACHINE of which frequency or which gigahertz is required for it . I WANNA KNOW . YOU HAVE TO REPLY
There is a lot of information here that will help you. oscarliang.com/choose-video-transmitter-fpv-mini-quad/
@@GOOD-ss1dq really? Shush.
Hello Paul Rose..
The answer to the question...2nd plug...one on the right....mine just arrived and labeled as....from left to right....Audio Video 5v GND
Need your help, I do not know at all about FVP system, what do I need to have camera on remote car so I can see real live video while I am sitting in my house as tool- car is underneath my house Raised foundation, checking plumbing at times ( camera system/ unit, item #?) much appreciate, a stroke survivor
Thanks for review. Do you have to scan each time you plug in? or is memory stored?
No. I don't. scanned once and that's it unless I want to change the channel
Thanks ! Help me a lot!
Anyone found an alternative to the go fpv app? I just upgraded to Android 10 and the app crashes when I try to record.
great Video, Thx
600mw? camera drone with transmitter and receiver phone. how big is the coverage? m? km?
+1👍 thanks found video on banggood
What kind of range can you expect out of this receiver?
Difficult to say, Totally depending on your Transmitter, Antenna setup, weather conditions.
Is good this receiver? (Rotg02) the image is delayed? or not ... because I have ordered it ... and how many meters can I show a picture?
It's good for what I am using it for (DVR and streaming) it's to slow for acro and racing, the delay is to much. But we are talking milliseconds. I have not range tested it, but it performed pretty well given the antenna it has (these can be upgraded to other fpv antennas.
whats the name of the app you download for android please..... thanks for posting this, i have been looking for something like this for a while.
We dont know what it is because you didnt give us a close look at the port
What app works on android ?
Hey there nice video, I was wondering can you tell me is there any lag in this otg receiver setup, and what's the max range it we use 600mw transmitter
yes there is a delay, Its is more than a standard FPV Goggle setup.
Range, Hard to say as there are so many factors involved.
Can jou get the streed camera with this
Which goggles do u have?
Just got one and the video quality looks really low... What could the problem be? Thanks
Low compared to what? I would be concerned if it was Low compared to a set of average FPV goggles.
@@sawtoothspike yep it's low quality compared to my budget Emax Transporter Goggles
Sadly the latest update from Oneplus has screwed up UVC on the Oneplus 5, hopefully it'll be fixed in the next update. I bought this just so other people can watch my fpv feed live. For now I'll have to bring my backup Oneplus One for other people to watch.
Does it connect to any drone that requires 5GHZ WIFI?
It will connect to transmitters that are on the 5.2GHz bands.
nice review. I subscribed too
Great review on what is potentially a great bit of kit. Any idea what the latency is likely to be?
I dont have the gear to measure, buts it quoted as 100ms. Which would be High for FPV, But fine for DVR/ Ride along's. I would also imaging your phone would effect the performance.
cual es el rango de distancia que alcanza su trasmisión
Can two of these run at once? Like if a friend and I wanted to set these up for two separate RC cars and wanted to run together in a house.
You can. You would need 2 phones and the 2 RC cars would need to be transmitting on different frequencies
Can you see the signal strenth on your screen during flight?
I think it depends on the app. Mine showed it for the first few second and then vanished.
Is there a receiver out there that has better latency that I COULD fly with? Looking to put my toe into the fpv hobby and I cannot spend 300+ on goggles right now and really don't want to waste 50-100 on a crap box set I will never use again. I do a lot of 3d printing and could make something that will put my phone at just the right distance for MY EYES. Now I just need something that can put an image on said phone.
Not really, The phone is part of the problem. If you want to go budget You can build some Quanum DIY FPV and just add a monitor. At least that way you have a monitor you can use for setup when you upgrade. I am still looking for a cheep set of goggles i would recommend At the moment. For £250 you get something worth having.
What's the difference between the rotg01 and this rotg02?
Rotg02 has diversity 2 receivers (it then pick the best signal from the 2), the Rotg01 only has 1.
sir, is it compatible to android phone with 2.4ghz wifi?
The video only works on 5.2ghz
@@sawtoothspike 5.8 GHz
@@BarefootBeekeeper yes, sorry typo
@@sawtoothspike I think the questioner may be confusing 5GHz WiFi with 5.8GHz radio. The ROTG02 is a dual radio receiver that operates on the 5.8GHz band and feeds a video signal to the OTG port on a phone, so WiFi doesn't play any part in its operation. You do need a phone that has an OTG-enabled USB port, however, and not all phones do.
I move 3 meter and the Signal is lost, can i fix it ?
Could be your transmitter, could be your antenna (both on the receiver or transmitter), could be your simply on the wrong Channel.
But it should work on a longer range than that
@@sawtoothspike i pressed random some Buttons on vtx , IT works now still dont know what the Problem was ...
How do you charge this?...or does it get power from the phone?
Joao Marveloso it's powered from your phone
Does this pick up any wifi cameras?
This will pick up cameras that have transmitters that are transmitting on the 5.2 band, this is not "wifi", its just on the wifi band.
for what is this skyzone extend wifi range or what?
It a receiver for a mobile phone
that's mean i don't need to buy monitors right?
A monitor or headset will have much much lower latency
Let me know about the maximum range or distance that can stream video
The range will be down to your transmitter and what your a transmitting from (RC buggy, drone or something else)
What smart phone model it is compatible?
I have a OnePlus 5. But I know people with Samsungs who use them without issue
Plug audio video out it says on reciver and in BG instructions
They must have updated it since I recorded this video.
Why are there two antennas? Two cameras?
It takes in 2 signals and shows the best one. It's call diversity. Ideally you use 2 different types of antenna
Thank you!
No problems
Does this work for TinyHawk2?
It will receive the video transmission. It will have a lot of latency, so i would not fly with it.
@@sawtoothspike wait you mean don't use this at all?
@@WorkJoker use it for ride alongs. You need low latency to fly race drone and this has a fair amount of latency.
it is no need uvc driver?
Not on my phone. I just needed to enhance OTG
@@sawtoothspike yup,it not run on my phone,,coz dont have uvc driver.......
Try "Easycap & UVC player (FPV viewer)" app. My phones didn't work with Go FPV but both my phones work with FPV viewer.
Does it fit any fpv cam
It work with any 5.2 fpv video transmitter. The camera does not matter.
Does it fit any camera with wifi like de dbpower ex 5000 (gopro replica )
@@LATEAMCANADIANLATEAMCANADIAN it uses the WiFi frequency range but it's not WiFi. It uses an analogue signal from a video transmitter.
ordered one of these to use until i buy a pair of goggles or monitor.
I would advise against doing much more than basic flying with it. The latency is significant.
Fyi, don't get a monitor, just get a pair of box goggles if your budget is limited. Eachines are not the greatest but they will get you flying. You can upgrade later
the extra port is for a one cell .3.7
Not tried that. Other people have suggested its for an external dvr

whats the name of the app you download for android please..... thanks for posting this, i have been looking for something like this for a while.
FPV Go is one of them. I think i put the links in the description.
what is the range on them
But the range to drone before connection is lost🤷♂️
The answer is it depends. There are so many factors at play like
Transmitter strength
Weather conditions
Antenna polarisation
Craft angle
Receiver angle and positions
Background radio activity
To name but a few
Really it's a "how long is a price of string question"
@@sawtoothspike thanks very much sir🙌💪
