    Our Rating System:
We rate albums out of 10. Any album that scores 8 or higher gets a Toe Tag. If an album gets Two Toe Tags then it gets added to the list in the link above. We do not review EP's but we may cover them in our New Release videos should they come up.
In regards to our Reaction videos:
As many of you know CZcams can be an unpredictable and often unfair place when it comes to copyright rules and their enforcement. If our video ends up getting cut due to copyright reasons it will be labeled in the title as a Review rather than a Reaction. The music video portion of the video will be cut out and you will only see our before and after thoughts. Unfortunately this is the best we can do under those circumstances and we would appreciate a Like rating on our videos to help us overcome any negative algorithmic affects.

Kamelot was founded by the guitarist, Thomas Youngblood, in Tampa, Florida, in 1987. The band has gone through significant line-up changes over the years, most notably of which is the change in singers. They've had three total. Here's a list of their discography with the pertinent information below:
Mark Vanderbilt was the first singer. He was on the band's first two albums:
    - Eternity (1995)
    - Dominion (1997)
Roy Khan was the second singer and has had the longest tenure with the band. He was in the group for the next seven albums:
    - Siege Perilous (1998)
    - The Fourth Legacy (1999)
    - Karma (2001)
    - Epica (2003)*
    - The Black Halo (2005)**
    - Ghost Opera (2007)
    - Poetry for the Poisoned (2010)
*Epica is the album from which the band Epica also got their name (they were originally called Sahara Dust).
**The Black Halo (along with the previous album, Epica) tells the journey of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's legendary tale "Faust", a man who is dissatisfied with life and so sells his soul to the devil for unlimited knowledge and worldly pleasures.
Poetry for the Poisoned was the last album to feature Roy Khan. He left the band to focus on his family and faith. I do believe he has since released new music as a solo artist.
Tommy Karevik is the third and current singer and has been with the group since 2011. He's released three albums with the band thus far, and The Awakening will be his fourth:
    - Silverthorn (2012)
    - Haven (2015)
    - The Shadow Theory (2018)
    - The Awakening (2023)
In regards to you guys thinking you are hearing a backing female melody: Tommy's wife, Kobra Paige (of the band Kobra and the Lotus) *may* have done some backing vocals to harmonize with him on this track. I'm not 100% certain of that though. In any event, Tommy can definitely reach that range and sing even higher than that too, so I don't think it is synthesized or augmented in any way like that. The band doesn't have any permanent harsh vocals, but they do use them in many singles by seeking other talented vocalists to do the harsh vocals for them. You also mentioned that you liked the video! A majority of their music videos - especially the more recent ones with Tommy as the singer - have a sci-fi industrial fantasy aesthetic. You should definitely check out more from this group! I'd recommend the following songs:
    [With Tommy as the vocalist]
    - "Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)" feat. Elize Ryd (Amaranthe) & Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy)
    - "Insomnia"
    - "Liar Liar (Wasteland Monarchy)" feat. Alissa White-Gluz
    - "Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)" feat. Lauren Hart (Once Human)
    - "Amnesiac"
    [With Roy as the vocalist}
    - "The Haunting (Somewhere in Time)" feat. Simone Simons (Epica). This is also the very first music video that Kamelot produced.
    - "The Elizabeth Trilogy" (Part I: Mirror Mirror, Part II: Requiem for the Innocent, Part III: Fall From Grace)
    - "The Great Pandemonium" feat. Bjorn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork)
    Thanks for checking out Kamelot!

Nice reaction! Harsh vocals on Kamelot are performed generally by female guests, and imho, that gives a nice contrast to it. Glad you liked my favorite band's stuff!

Tommy has an amazing voice. He also has a great Prog band 7th Wonder. Sounds just as good live.

Kamelot is a mainly clean vocal band, however they have collaborated with singers that do harsh vocals like Alyssa White-Gluz in Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife) and Citizen Zero, March of Mephisto with Shagrath, and The Great Pandemonium with Björn Strid. These guys are my #1 favorite band and I would really like to see you guys look into more of their stuff! There's a lot of gold you're missing out on!

Tommy has an insanely good voice that always blows me away. Definitely think you guys should check out their live video for their song Sacrimony, even if it's just on your own time, which they performed with Alissa White-Gluz and Elize Ryd.

On Kamelot's Black Halo album (one of their best) the song March of Mephisto has harsh vocals. And some of the later albums have harsh vocals too like Poetry for the Poisoned. Not throughout the whole album though just for a couple of songs.

they said this song was based on fighting illness and disease in which every cure found is a flag in the ground.... They usually have feature female singers ALICIA WHITE GLUZ has done a couple screamers., this song is pretty bad ass for this band for sure...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

If you want Kamelot with harsh vocals, check out Liar Liar, with Alyssa from Arch Enemy.

They often have (mostly female) guest vocalists on their albums (and live on tour as well) adding harsh vocals.

The background voices may hve been done by Tommy's wife, Kobra Paige from Kobra and the Lotus and if you haven't heard them they are fantastic! Try "Velvet roses" to start with.

I got to see these guys open over 15 years ago for Nightwish and they had a female singer intermittently come in and knock it out of the park.....it was Alissa White Gluz. I think this band is responsible for her getting the offer from Arch Enemy. Pretty cool in retrospect, and they did a single with her soon after.
Song is decent per usual, but I enjoy their older stuff more.

@Robert Lundkvist it's scary, but she's 37 now. I kept thinking "this girl has some pipes, why isn't she in a band?"

I thought that the best way to listen to metal is with headphones. Why are you reacting without these?
