Thanks doctor good advice
" if you scar easily, please do not get tattoos".... Welp there goes my dreams of getting a tattoo
I’m a tattoo artist who also scars easily & had keloids on my ears from my childhood & i have tons of tattoos. I’ve found that going to someone with a light hand & not getting bold lines insures my skin won’t scar
I scar very easily and have a bunch of tattoos idk why he would come to that conclusion lol also have tattoos over my beauty marks🤷🏼♀️. but ya know I use way more sunscreen on my tattoos so im sure itll be fine😂😂
@@k.beasley56 question! I have keloids from some injuries previously but I’ve also minor cuts and my ear pierced without any problems. Am I able to get tattoos?
Interesting he said this, because my derm told me it should be fine. That the skin trauma of tattooing is different than the trauma that causes keloids and hypertrophic scars (which I am prone to and have like 15-20 on me currently)
Hahaha "no ragrets" that movie cracks me up. This was a great video, thanks!
thanks doc! it's all about treating the root causes of psoriasis, especially if you want a tattoo
I have a sensitive skin and currently I'm having skin issues with lichen planus ..can I get a tattoo..Please respond please
I easily get scars due to some insect bite but not keloids, is it ok to get a tattoo?
Hi doc, i have a lots of keloids in my chest. Can i ask you some questions privately?

Is there any way to know before getting a Tattoo, if I'm allergic to it?
If you were to have tattoo allergies and got tattoo removal would this be dangerous?
Do i need to go to dermatologist to have skin test ? If i'am going to have tattoo?
i have a stitch scar right now... the scar is revcovering for 5 months.. when can i get it tattooed if i want to? 🌷
I got a mild allergic reaction from my 2 tattoos on my arm. I had no issues with the tattoo on my other arm that was only black ink. I've had no issues with my pink tattoo on my ankle. However, both tattoos I have issues with have blue ink. Does this mean I could be allergic to just blue ink?
As a tattoo artist Yes. But it's usually reds that ppl are allergic to
i’ve been thinking ab getting a tattoo for sooo long but my atopic dermatitis fucked up skin has stopped me. i don’t usually get keloids unless i scratch a lot. the keloids i DO have are from self harm which i suppose are different from what a tattoo needle does to the skin. i want it on my forearm, idk if i should risk it
PLEASE HELP! - can I get a tattoo with mild tinea versicolour ?
Hi. I have skin asthma, can I get a tattoo?
My mom has keloids. She got 2 medium tattoos but they didn’t scar.
I am in serious need of help. I was unaware of tattoo allergies. I am someone who is allergic to bee stings and poisonous plants like poison ivy, sumac, oak, and even virgina creeper.
I had 3 black tattoos in the past with no issues. So I decided to get a big back tattoo. Half black, half red... it covers my entire back. We got it done in 2 sessions. First being the black ink. It healed perfectly and 2 months later I went in for my red ink sessions.. still unaware of red ink causing issues in some people.. mind you my artist is really good, well known locally the best around. He just won a big state wide competition a few months back. Yet he didn’t tell me about this possibility or I would not have gotten red. I would’ve just done all black and grey or changed my idea all together.
So now I’m having an allergic reaction to the red ink. Luckily it’s not completely reacting. It’s worst on my upper back where my shirt tends to rub more while at work... also I work outdoors in the cold dry air 8 hours a day 5 days a week.
What should I do? I got this tattoo last week.
I am so sorry you were one of the few who reacts to red tattoo ink. My recommendation would be to see your local Dermatologist today so they can either prescribe topical steroids, systemic steroids, or antibiotics depending on what they think the cause is. Hang in there!
@@DoctorpediaYT Thank you. Is Walmart Hydrocortisone cream strong enough? That’s what my artist recommended.
@@nextlevelbjj3083 what are your symptoms?
@@nextlevelbjj3083 it's been a while but I'm commenting in case anyone needs it. First, STOP the tattoo immediately. Always stop anything when you are having an allergic reaction. Ask your tattoo artist what type of ink and ask for the lot number and contact the manufacturer about your reaction. There's a possibility you are allergic to a particular ingredient in the tattoo and can switch to another brand. See a Dermatologist or Allergy doctor regarding the reaction and with the information regarding the components of the ink, they should be able to advise. Good luck and keep us posted! Best wishes, a future Derm and current tattoo artist. ^_^
Can i get a tattoo if i have an asthma??
Can i get a tattoo over my eczema?
I'm planning to get tattoo, can i ask if the tattoo get being a keloid,? Because my father has a lot of keloid in his back
Did you get it done in the end?
So I really just want a forearm tattoo.. Last year I had surgery to get a big keloid but off my ear and keloids run in my family. I read the ear is a heavy keloid prone area, while the forearm is not … I grew up playing football and got many cuts but never got a keloid anywhere else on my body besides ear. Am I safer to get a forearm tattoo?
Did you end up getting that done bro? I’m in the same boat
What about camouflage tattoo
I m going to do a tattoo.. but I think I have allergies....is it possible I can have tattoo?
Thank you for your question! Here is Dr. Anderson's response: "You can get a tattoo but you need to know what your allergies are and what the ingredients are of the ink that is going to be placed in your skin. This is difficult as tattoo artists can get their ink almost anywhere. The quality places will NOT make their own ink but instead get it from a national source that tests its product for contamination. Just be careful and do a little research."
Can I get a neck tattoo if I have acne prone skin? I don’t have any breakouts as of rn but Idk if I would breakout after getting the tattoo
The necessary aftercare of a tattoo would probably cause some acne for the first couple of weeks after and this might effect the cosmetic outcome of the tattoo.
I have dermatographia, this means I can’t get tatted ?
Can we get a tattoo over an already existing keloid?
The issue I'm facing is, I have 4 ear piercings, but only one had keloid, so I'm wondering is it because it was infected and not my actual skin problem?
Tough question to answer. There is something different about the one that developed a keloid. Regardless, your body has demonstrated the ability to form one keloid and so you have an increased risk than the general population for growing more. Please be careful with any piercings, tattoos, surgeries, ... in the future to help minimize how many more develop.
Can I get a tattoo while i'm on roaccutane theraphy? Please, I'd really appreciate answer a lot!
I would not get a tattoo while on accutane AND for at least 6 months after your last dose as your risk of complications is higher.
I've got Guttate psoriasis and there's nothing about whether or not I should get a tattoo. I'm nervous about a flare up.
Can i have a tattoo when I have leprosy
I would be very cautious with this. Probably not a great idea to have a tattoo under these circumstances.
can keloid prone skin get tattoo??
I would not. Any injury can cause a keloid and getting a tattoo is definitely an injury.
I have a problem of dermatographia can i get tattoo ?
I would advise against it.
