Poricha Kuzhambu

  • Poricha kuzhambu is a traditional south Indian dish made with vegetables, coconut and spices. It can be served with hot rice as a meal.It can be made with either a single vegetable or a combination of vegetables.
    Ingredients
    Snakegourd 2 cups(chopped)
    Oil 2 Tsp
    Urad Dal 1 Tsp
    Pepper 1 Tsp
    jeera 1/2 tsp
    Dry Red Chilli 1
    Salt
    Turmeric Powder
    Grated Coconut 2 Tbsp
    Hing a pinch
    Curry leaves a few

    What's the difference between poricha kuzhambu and kootu?

      one of the main differences is the consistency. poricha kuzhambu is more flowing .

      Another difference is in that the urad dal coconut and red chilies and black pepper are fried and ground to a paste and added. A coot on the other can be made with the addition of grated coconut alone

    Hello aunty , first thank u for all ur tasty dishes...I'm one of ur fan...I eveytime watch ur recepie and loving it..but the problem is that I'm from maharashtra I can't understand some of ur recepies name and ingredients.     Mami, are poricha kuzabu and poricha kootu the same?
    Is this also same as palakkad iyer style mulakootal

    Some veg becomes slightly sour when cooked. Otherwise i prefer adding tamarind or yogurt . Thanks for sharing this .
