Cy's multi-tracked self-harmonization from 3:25 onwards is my favorite moment of any Fixx song (though Jamie's guitar solo in "Outside" is a very close second!). Such a great way to emphasize both the anguish and the (hopeful) resolution in the lyrics
And suddenly in my mind: "I live....!" but... what was the band it played? After some thinking I got it: the Fixx! Whooww... This is a track FULL of energy!! After years of not playing the CD, this was the track that suddenly, out of nothing, came to my mind again. Each time they sing "I live!" the volume goes up even further...
My favorite too. Great album. I honestly dont think I have favorite album, I like pretty much everything from Shuttered Room to Ink and Beautiful Friction.
what a year for some great music...by '84 i was convinced, the fixx were the greatest, of course i had not yet heard the xtc, ha ha~ beyond 2022, well what the heck does it matter, as long as we've got it all up til now, right? well, why don't you-tell-me, amigos~~~
