You've asked, and EPIC delivers! Chris is starting her a CZcams channel, posting short-form garden tips from her Instagram - go be the first sub: czcams.com/channels/WhCg5s458icoHkLX8mGjqA.html
Heck yeah! Done; looking forward to it! 😀
Aight bet
Oh yes! I'm in Delta BC so this is such a treat! Thanks y'all!
Chris, hoping the heat waves arent dealing too too much damage
Yay! My 2 year old son and I like to watch a video with Chris before nap time. My son is always relaxed and I’m always inspired! I adore her garden.
Chris does a great job teaching and sharing! Excited to see her grow her channel as well as garden as her 19th sub! Lol :)
Chris’ garden is amazing; hobbits in the shire would be jelly! It’s so green and lush.
Ha, they would!
Living here in the Puget Sound area, we share the same 8b climate that Chris gardens in. I love your channel. It is, as you say, epic. Sometimes, though, your southern Calfornia garden tips are entertaining but don't really work here. The addition of other gardeners from other areas, like Chris, has made your channel even more epic. Thank you.
Literally just posted virtually the same comment. PNW team!
I miss the pacific northwest
This is is so great because I live in Seattle so sometimes the amazing plants that are prolific for Kevin and Jacques just aren't realistic for me. It's so nice seeing someone from the PNW!!! Chris ftw!
“I think it’s supposed to be flowering. But it’s ok it’s a live :)”
Me too Chris…me too
Chris’ garden is beautiful! I love her style, the plants flow together freely. So fun, it’s like they are friends. I look forward to seeing her garden in future videos!
Thanks for the amazing tour, Chris! This New West resident is envious of your space and garden. Those eggplants are ADORABLE.
They are!
My neighbor uses those varieties to pickle.
Dang she’s growing EVERYTHING
As a Southern Ontario lady, I'm excited to see more of your garden! Thanks for sharing, Chris!
Oh my goodness, what an amazing accomplishment to create a garden like this! Lots of ideas here to incorporate into my own plans... thank you!
I'm from Seattle and I definitely feel your pain fighting the squirrels (and rabbits). Sometimes I think they eat more from my garden than I do 😬
Great tour of Chris' garden, it's so interesting to see what people are growing in different zones (and countries) as we are in the equivalent of 10a/b but in Spain, Europe. Keep up the good work Chris and thanks to Kevin for posting this
Is the weather over there hot and humid during summer?
@@dolsemiyano no it's not humid at all. It's very hot and very dry. For example we had rain on 4/5/22 and then 1 day last Saturday but will probably not be any more until late September/October now. Generally in the 35-45c from June-Sept
Name all the cut flower varieties, Chris! 😄😄 I love your garden flow...it's so inviting!
Love getting to see Chris's garden! I love watching everything on this channel, but it can be disheartening seeing everything the warmer zones can do. I'm in 8b like Chris and I suddenly feel way more on track!
The peppers were the best part. I was getting flowers but seeing them drop every single night. That warm week hit and I now actually have some fruit growing!
Yes! My Seattle garden suffered from the rainy spring and then heatwave…and then rats got my eggplants. 😭 but! My potatoes were boss!
@@MsLibrarianator Oh man, that rain killed so many of my freshly transplanted plants! Luckily I don't get many animals munching my garden. Just bugs really. I counted 40 snails in a small patch in front yard a few nights ago. There were easily 100+ in my driveway alone!
Getting a terrier dog would really help with the rodent situation.
I have a friend in SF who also has a lush garden. The squirrels and rats would eat at everything. Then he got a terrier, and the dog would patrol the fence line. And the dander laid down helped to repel the rodents. Problem solved! And he got a new best friend named Sammy.
I LOVE seeing what Chris is up to on here and it makes me even happier to know she’s growing local to my area!! Seeing what she’s able to grow in her garden gives me so much hope for my lil planters - I just planted some lupins this year and it’s nice to see hers thriving 🤩🤩💖
I just signed up to her channel based on this episode. I think she showed that she doesn’t have all the answers: rats and not remembering all her plants’ names. And probably mentioning her son (he can make veggie choices) in one or more growing areas. Makes her more personable now. Looking forward to future videos.
Carolyn/Vermont Cat Lady originally from San Diego, California.
Her garden is sooooo beautiful
Parts of southwestern British Columbia like Vancouver and also some of southern Ontario are much warmer than the rest of Canada
Always love when Chris is on the channel- thank you for this fun garden tour!
I am trying the mesh bag over my fruits this year too to combat rats and squirrels. I feel like it's going to work! Really really beautiful yard!
Kevin, now it's time to get a gardener from even a colder zone into the team 😄✌️ (seasonal gardener guest haha)
Hi Chris! Sending much love and appreciations from Southern Alberta. Zone 3/4 here. Shorter, colder growing season (now on heatwave as well tho!). Lovelovelove your perennials 🤍 I understand how tricky and tough it is to grow edibles in Canada 😊 We tend to push it further beyond limits 👍 Happy growing!
Her place is so pretty.

Thank you, Chris, for sharing your successes, and especially showing what isn't as well grown, and why. I have a first year garden, with various soil sources, natural amendments like fermented nettles, comfrey, seaweed, and horsetail, and rabbit manure. Most of my home sewn seedlings stayed stunted almost forever, with a few surging ahead in the last four weeks. I hope to have new plants producing in the fall and winter, and trust next year will be better. I am learning a lot from all of you!
I love your cereal patch!!!the rice patch is very interesting. 😊I have never heard of perennial spreading cauliflower..
Chris’ voice is made to teach. So lovely.
I love your garden Chris! I’m in Seattle (z8b also). You’ve definitely given me some tips / encouragement for my own small garden. 🥰😊
I want to be a gnome and live in that garden. Gorgeous!
Working really hard to create something like this this year. 😊
She's such an inspirational gardener! Look how beautiful that garden is!!!! I love it!
That's a big plot of land for Vancouver, wow
Holy sprouts! That’s a garden! It’s the dream!
YAY! Thank you including Chris. I'm in Vancouver and it's wonderful to see someone local, even more inspo!
👋 hello hope everyone’s having a nice day 😊
Love Chris and her garden!
Absolutely loving Miss Chris. Her garden is so homey. Reminds me of grandma’s yard in summer.😊❤
Absolutely beautiful Chris! You're a talented landscape designer!
I agree. Chris is very beautiful!
Beautiful lush garden Chris. How nice your son is growing with you. Pantyhose may be a cheaper option for protecting fruit and they stretch as it grows! Goji berry is a bit of a thug if you don't have the space . It spread by runners and was popping up thru the lawn from a raised bed!! Going to grow it in a container on cement. Thanks for sharing 🌱💚
Love Chris! Happy she’s on the team repping Canada 🍁
Hi Chris, the strange tomato is called ,Reisetomate‘ which means travel tomato, because you can rip off parts of the tomato without hurting the entire fruit. I haven’t grown it, but lots of German CZcamsrs did and apparently it looks cool, but doesn’t taste that good. Thank you for your videos!
I love the random sunflowers.
It really is a good look 👀
Yay! I was wondering if we'd get to see more of her. Love her energy and knowledge. Looking forward to her videos!
Love your garden Chris...
Very envious of ur colorful gorgeous sprawling yard🌼🌿🌻🐦🌱
I absolutely love Chris she’s so pretty and knows so much plants 🪴 ❤
Canadian living in Western Australia, always ake for granted how easy things grow here. Great to see how innovative you are to grow a large varieties of plant in a challenging climate. Enjoy your presentation and the result of your toil. Thank you
I'm in Oregon, and love Chris' garden and Instagram pages so much - thanks for showcasing her!!
And now a CZcams channel? Woo hoo!!
I’m always looking for a turf grass alternative that doesn’t require as much water as an hoa style lawn but is still safe and soft for my pups to play in
Hello from Seattle! Just so happy to be seeing a PNW garden
I love Chris, she is wonderful and very smart :*
What an amazing garden. It makes me motivated to keep going! What a dream to be working with you guys, I'm jealous! Keep up the amazing content!
Wow! Absolutely stunning.
I value Chris’ knowledge on EG, especially since I, too, am from the PNW.
This tour is so inspiring! I love how you have kind of a loose and free gardening style. I love the cut flower patch and want to try something like that!
That pointed cabbage in the back garden is called „Spitzkohl“ in German and it is a popular kind of cabbage in Germany. It’s very tasty, a little bit more mild and sweeter. I often put it into a risotto dish with garden cress and lots of cheese. ☺️
That's one amazing garden! Every space has its purpose and plant. Love it!
EPIC GARDEN CHRIS! I absolutely loved this video and the knowledge of plants Chris shares. I'm not to far down the valley from her so the content is super relevant to gardening in my own backyard. Keep the garden updates coming!
Chris's garden is lovely. Pineapple guava (or feijoa as we call it in Aus/NZ) takes 2 - 3 years to fruit (mine did anyway). Best if you have 2 as well. And they are delicious!
Wow!
Wow freaking awesome garden!!
Omg! Hi from Queensborough/New Westminster, BC.
So psyched to see a gardening vid from Vancouver.
I'm definitely interested to see how that Petit Moineau tomato turns out! I've heard about this heirloom variety by reputation and its amazing flavour, it's supposed to be one of the strongest and sweetest of any of the currant tomato varieties.
I’ve got a crush on Chris
I see that Chris has a lion’s tail by her apple tree. I planted one on a dirt pile and it tried to take over. It grew so big that you couldn’t see any of the other plants. I pulled it out and I’m still pulling out seedlings that keep creeping up. I did allow one to grow in the back of the hill, but I’m managing the growth. The hummingbirds really do love it.
You are lucky to be growing chayote. One of my family favorite vegetable but living in NJ, difficu6to grow!!
Love that it is a bit colder climate garden its cool to look at gardens that have no snow or hardly any frost at middle of freezing winter (-30 C at zone 6a ) but its not so informative or copyable.
It was nice to have a tour.
Love your use of space and pollinator varieties. Always a joy to watch all of the Epic Gardening staff. Another great video.
My dalias still havent flowered. But finally looking to get close.
I love garden tours!
Excellent work, Chris! Can’t wait to see more. Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for the tour, Chris! Love your garden!
This is awesome!! Hi from Richmond, BC :) It's really great getting insight into the somewhat odd climate we have in the lower mainland - extremely wet winter/fall/spring but typically very dry summers. Very nice to be able to compare some of the oddities in my own garden and know that it's not just me.
Beautiful garden, thanks for sharing
Chris’s garden is beautiful I would love my backyard to get like that. I have a pineapple guava plant as well. Glad to know yours has not flowered yet. I’m disappointed that my fig tree didn’t flower in the first year.
Wow, amazing tour, Chris! Gorgeous garden and produces food, too? And involves your family? Brava!
Glad to see her on CZcams I’ve been following her for a while on IG…I love all the info she provides
That is so cool!
I tried to grow corn pops and coco puffs but they wouldn't germinate.
i've had better luck with corn pops
i planted dollar bills and by september i had grown 10 dollar bills! fun gardening never know what it will yield.
Thank you Chris for the amazing tour of that gorgeous garden! 😀
This is definitely an epic garden. Thanks for sharing!
Love Chris!
Stunning! Loved the tour, thank you!
Wonderful tour! thanks so much for sharing Epic Gardening.
You have such a beautiful garden!!
I'm jealous. Chris lives further north than me and garden at 8b, but i'm 5b on the east coast.
Wow magnifique bravo à vous 😊 😊 😊
A bientôt 👍
A terrific garden tour, thank you.
Yes, love it!! I'm in North Dakota so really looking forward to the winter gardening. Hopefully make it through and can't wait for your videos!!
Great video.
What kind of greenhouse? Love it all.
Beautiful garden, something I dream of, would be extremely hard to do with free ranging chickens and ducks. Instead of have a cottage garden I have the Jurassic Yard.
Love your garden. So beautiful!
Beautiful garden. It reminds me of mine before the Texas heat kicked fully in. I like the idea of growing tea and rice. I'll have to try those!
This was EXCELLENT!!!!
HI! I live in the same zone as Chris, here in Victoria BC, and I am wondering at what point will you put your peppers and other plants in the greenhouse? and what temperature will you keep them at? Thanks for any advice!
Damn Chris - bomb looking garden
Spectacular garden! My dahlia has massive leaves and stems but still no flowers as well.
I recommend a purple climbing bean called Trionfo Violetto. It has grown well for me this year and it has been fun to pick the beautiful big purple pods. They are also delicious.
Thank you! It was a lovely tour! Please tell us more about the gogi berries. Mine is just staying unhappy looking.
Ima have to try out some of those peppers. Peppers r my favorite to grow. All different types of peppers 🌶
The odd looking tomato is called Reisetomate. It's an old German variety that's also called a travel tomato because you can twist off a part of the tomato to munch on while walking. The taste is described as very acidic. I got seeds for this tomato to try a breeding experiment. In my opinion, today's tomato varieties were bred to be too sweet. So I'm going to cross this tomato with sweeter tomatoes to try to get that old fashioned flavor in some of the new varieties. (get old fashioned flavor on more disease resistant cultivars, too)
great jobb
