      I'll explain it to you. You ever seen a poll about something that no sane person would disagree with and the poll is like 90% one answer or 92% one answer and 8-10% something crazy. That's how all ratings work. 8-10% of the people are contrarians. These are the kinda guys who when questioned if the sky is Blue, say no. So 90-92% is really 100% in practical terms. You always have an 8-10% Crazy factor. I'd say Vortex Radar is way ahead of the game here. He actually converted some of the crazies!

    Why does nobody make a mount /detector that has power built into the mount connection so you don't have to unplug the cable each time?

    • @Airbag1010674

    • @j.ballsdeep420
      @j.ballsdeep420 Před 2 lety

      @@Airbag1010674 -- Not completely true depending on engineering: For example you COULD do a magnetic USB adapter for USB-C, as many manufacturers make already, where it could have a sheeth that extends down the body with an internal cable and magnetic connection to the said magnetic USB connection so that the wired connection to the mound is simply built in. Answer to why it hasn't been done is simply that it hasn't been engineered, but even to your point of having multiple power connections, that is a lazy excuse as you're talking about fractions of a dollar to have engineered two power connections and your accessory options could make said connection.

    I wish the unit had more than 1 horn. I really like the fact the Uniden R3 has more information available on the display. One thing I would love to see detector companies putting in their detectors is a frequency lock feature. Example, you are going down the road and come up on a vehicle with known BSM, you do a certain button press to lock that frequency from alerting again since you know it is a BSM frequency. Not sure that feature will be anytime soon, but it is one I think a lot of people would like to have. It would save the companies a lot of time doing that rather trying to keep trying to keep their BSM filtering right.

      And of course state police stationary radar.
      I setup the Ds1 with low speed lockout, GPS lockout, and filtering. It's very quiet. The occasional Honda BSM trips it up. Inforget it's running most of the time until it alerts to a legit threat.

    Unrelated: Blackvue Australia couldn't figure it out. My 900x has the LTE with the cellink neo. Its brand new. First week was fine and now for the past 2 weeks it cannot play or save any footage over the cloud. B.V said to ask anyone in the U.S if the servers are bad. One person in the forum has also been experiencing my problem. I have reinstalled the app also but something is going on with the LTE module.

    I'm curious about the degradation of the 360c's alert distance. if you go back in time to the prior tests the 360c performed better. What is causing the degradation of alert distance since a year ago? is it that now you increased KA band by two more bands (adding 4 & 6), is it the additional BSM filtering which should only impact K band response but is also impacting KA band, is it a combinaton of both? As escort continues to add BSM filtering is the 360c is it going to continue to degrade in alert distance? Hell, the Max 3 outperformed it in several runs.

    • @johnross6314
      @johnross6314 Před 2 lety

      Good questions. The added segments (4&6) in prior tests does not slow the 360c down. The conventional wisdom, the fast DSP and FPGA chips and the OS, segmentation does not speep up the scan. And that the band scan is uber fast (better than Uniden with no segmentation enabled). Assuming conventional RDF community wisdom holds, adding the segments on Escort, and not the Attowave designs will not be a disadvantage. CW states does not affect Escort K band either.
      Now, let’s place this in reverse. The Attowave made Radenso DS-1 might slow down when adding Ka segments, and adding it’s most capable livable K band settings. With the K band set to narrow, all the K band filters on, with reduced K band sensitivity settings, in order to make the DS1 livable for BSM and other K band falsing, it might affect Ka capability. However the DS1 has faster chips. On one hand, cutting K band to narrow, could help the DS1 on Ka. Maybe.. time will tell with accurate STREET acceptable setting on K, plus a wider Ka scanning. May not hurt the DS1 enough to matter or at all.
      Escort has been fooling around with the 360c firmware, IMO has affected negatively street performance on K and KA. However, ALWAYS know that the red barn course hurts the 360c over others. Escort decided to narrow the width of reception on the M4 style antenna on the Max 360/360c in order to reduce signals coming on from off angles. May help it stay quiet on super highways and still have good top tier range. However, on curvy wooded non guardrail reflection roads, 360 platform will never be close to the top players.

    I noticed that on their website that their accessories are very pricey...hardwire with mute, magnetic mount, etc. I have the R7, R3, V1G2 and several others. I always get my curiosity up when something new comes out, but I think am going to hold out for Theia before dropping more cash for a new toy. Right now, I am well covered.
    I would like to see someone else besides NetRadar who can integrate my ALPs (I know they are linked) with their unit but this may not be possible to due to TM and Patents.

      I suspect Theia is vaporware: Drum up huge hype for an innovative concept with good whitepapers byway of using the absolute edge of current generation products while taking small margins just to get your name in the game for said concept (Theia) so one of the larger, established manufactures simply buy you out for a large chunk and Jon retired at 35 without ever having to truly produce Theia. Notice how they keep using chip shortage the last two years it was suppose to be available since announcing 3 years ago, Attowave (now Uniden owned) has had troubles like everyone and supply has been slower but still existent: Radenso isn't making some brand new silicon and some new manufacturing process for making said microchips, therefore yes it could have been SLOWED, but we don't even have a fucking PROTOTYPE beyond white papers. It's vaporwave, bro: He's waiting for a buyout on his tech he's patented but I'm waiting on corporate espionage, reverse engineering, and tweaking to make it not violate patents so we can actually get the fucking tech at all.
