@@SkyToddler 3 months full throttle. When I was at work, studied. Listening to the material while driving to and from work. I also took a LOT of practice test and went over what I missed and made note cards on it.

That’s what I did and I passed on the first try.
701 is out now and can be taken. As a new comer into the IT world I am sure that employers will favor your "current knowledge" as there is more, imo, indebt info on the 701 then the 601. No matter which exam you take, I wish everyone the best of luck.
You'd be wrong. Employers will never ask what version you took, just if your cert is current.

Started to watch videos on 601 and then found out about 701 but I’m just to push through w 601

I was studying for SYO-701, but I just realized that 601 was in July 2024. So, I am going to pivot to studying the 601. My goal is to take it in January.

I am almost finishing 601, but so anxious that i won't make it until the deadline, everyone says different dates for the deadline of 601, i have been told may is the last month is it may or july of 2024?

its wild that so much of the government requires sec+ and they dont have anything to do with networks or security. I'm hoping to do the cert master for 701 to keep my cert.

@@ZERO_TO_IT_HERO well I work in a government job that requires it, and all I do is liaison to other parties. Test is hard as heck for someone that isn't in the it field at all.

Just passed my Google Cyber cert a month ago and I like a challenge so I’m taking the 701 now in about 2 weeks

I know u said to take the steps. But, it's just for me there are a lot of personal factors in play of why I want to jump straight into security+ then go back and study network or do an introductory network situation while doing security plus. Would u recommend a roadmap kinda like this?

Me personally I wouldn’t take the 601 cuz that exam will retire in July 2024.and it’s just not enough time and if you do try to take it you will have to rush and most certainly fail.i prefer to take the new 701 sec+ better cuz you could take your time and learn all the concepts.
I'm kinda bummed at myself. I literally just took 601 yesterday and failed. The test proctor asked why I didn't take the 701. He even told me that it was easier which I'm not too sure about. I didn't know, wasted my time and money. Been studying for months.
@@BeyondAIR15 I understand your frustration but don’t give up study for the 701 and you will pass.and I don’t agree with comptias an pearsonVue with their stupid testing rules.they’re literally robbing thousands of students taking any of these exams,they should at least give people 2 tries for that one time fee,or just test you on the domains of objectives people got wrong only and score the necessary points to be certified.thats what I call corporate greed.

I’m I. Collage and we got vouchers to take the 601 i studied hard but when it was test day I had set for the 701 😂 so I failed with a 675 about to take my retest but from all the study material I think the 601 is a little easier than the 701, but we will see.

I did 601 and I failed it, did 640, without any other certification. And I failed it because I didn't study two weeks prior. Yeah I'm that mfkr
