Kate is an incredible writer and performer. I met her at a songwriting camp many years ago, and was able to open for her once at the now defunct Iron Horse in Kansas. It was an honor.
Kate Campbell , I've listened to you for years and you are absolutely one of the best songwriters in America. Your name belongs with Dylan, Simon, Cohen and the rest.. Thank you
My husband and I saw/heard Kate several times at the Acoustic Sounds Cafe about 18 - 20 years ago in Little Rock, AR. We always tried to go when she was singing there. Beautiful voice, amazing songs with meaningful lyrics. Absolutely love this woman and her music!
That song is so needed right now, first few times I heard this song I cried, sad that we have not learned from the mistakes of our ancestors, may God Bless you two for writing this song and for you doing such a wonderful job telling this horror story Kate!
I've been a fan for years.....have seen her everywhere, Bartlett Performing Arts Center while sitting onstage, at the Center for Southern Folklore, Memphis music festivals, Jackson, TN auditorium.....she is the greatest! LOVE YOU KATE!!
A friend just recommended her and I'm hooked. Beautiful song!! She's coming to the International Storytelling Center in August where I live in East Tennessee and I can't wait to see her.
So simple and so profound. I am not a country music fan, but for you I will make a big exception. You are an honest musical poet. I hope to shake your hand one day, and maybe even sing a duet. Just found you today, a true God breeze!
This story and song stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it. A very personal take on history. It still moves me and I aspire to write songs like this.
The best song writer in the world that you've never heard of. Beautiful Ms. Campbell.
Some of the best artists fly under the radar.. X
Best times were spent listening to this special person in my life.

Loved this song from first hearing on a free alternative country CD on the front of a magazine I bought some summers ago.

A great song to listen to on the anniversary of Dr. King's "I Have a Dream." It always moves me deeply.
No clue why I've never heard Kate or this song before, but as I sit here with tears streaming down my face, I sure am glad I heard it. WOW
