  • My buddy Koji, a very talented guy that edits commercials for Japanese TV, also is a huge fan of stand up paddle (SUP). In this video he shows me the basics, introduces me to river activity life in Tokyo, and demonstrates how to take the rapids and actually surf on the rapids.
Mitake is a beautiful scenic spot that is not always on the tourist maps, so we can enjoy a lot of nature with not so many people around. Loved this trip and can't wait to go again soon!

I've surfed, snowboarded and skateboarded throughout my life....but to be honest it was 2 hours of sleep and fear of cold water that kept me motivated not to fall haha

Yeah I didn’t even try to do the white water haha I already knew it would take more time for this baby dear to make it happen 😂 thank you for the nice comment, I’m trying to get more of a feel for my editing style, and I can’t lie I felt some pressure since Koji edits commercials for a living…didn’t want to let him down 😅

It’s an area of Tokyo called Mitake, in various spots along the Tama River and Mitake Gorge. Really loved it!
