Hey Everyone,
My name is JRO Lights and I have been collecting Zippos for over 10 years. My collecting themes include: limited editions, Collectibles of the years, and any unique/ special designs.
I am not a film expert or editor, however I have a passion for Zippos and I hope to bring a variety and diverse range of Zippo information.
My mission is to bring knowledge to both new collectors and more seasoned collectors, and also bring more knowledge to myself.
Feel free to email me at jrolights@gmail.com for questions, suggestions or anything else.

Great video JRO!
You pretty much hit the nail on the head on the primary sources of info and dating. After having focused so much energy collecting and researching vintage lighters I find that David Poore's book is still an encyclopedia for the different series lighters. For identifying vintages and lighter variants, it's hard to beat Glenzippo due to its use of actual pictures, although having spent so long collecting now I have already personally collected enough examples that counter some of that site's work. So for me the Glenzippo site is still the best for vintages and variants, but is probably only about 90-95% accurate and really needs updates and corrections (sadly my attempts to reach out to Glen have been unsuccessful).
For vintage boxes and pamphlets, it seems like The Passionate Wick is the best online resource, but it's lacking a few variants that I managed to collect, so even that site is not as authoritative as it used to be, but also suffers from a site owner who seems largely out of reach.
Anyway I've been working with a couple of people on Reddit off and on to try and compile the most accurate source for vintage identification possible, but on the older stuff it's hard to compile authoritative info without either a ton of cash to buy everything or without the occasional assistance of a mega collector/historian like R. who gave you the David Poore book.
Thanks for the once again well written advice, greatly appreciate your input!
Each website has their pros and cons, how I enjoy seeing other perspectives and information.
I would love to find some of these books at a yard sale. Thank you for letting me know about them!
Yeah they are hard to find regardless, I’ve always had an eye kept in old book stores and such
Another great Video Jon. Poores book is my first port of call. Worthpoint website is also very useful. I started out with the Warmans Zippo Lighters field guide. Its a cheap and very useful addition to finding out info. As always the Zippo Facebook sites are great for asking a quick question on. Just not, whats it worth!! Look forward to your next video and keep up the good work!!
Thanks! Yeah I forgot to add the one about Dana & Robin that’s a good one just to see a variety of pieces
Very good video✌. I need to get the David Poore book now for sure.
Glad I could influence you in spending $48 on one lol 🤣
Yeah, saw it on Ebay and decided, sure why not lol
Me too 😉
If in doubt I'll just ask you mate 😁 Great video as always
🤣 my rates have gone up this year.
I never asked for this. But god damn, I definitely love to see it, what a treat Lmfao.
Some good info about your black crackles on some of those books and sites too!
