It seems that coaches and parents are a lot worse than when I umpired baseball. I did see one error that the umpire made. On the second interference call, the umpire is to wait until the play is complete. Then he calls time and goes on with the interference.
It is difficult to say if the game should have been forfeited based on this short clip. If it were me, I would have not. I umpired high school and little league baseball and men’s fast pitch softball. I have only forfeited the game once that was because a MUCH LARGER coach belly bucked me after I tossed him.
The adults have forgotten this is a game for the players. There are NO college scouts at this game!
I also have a couple of things to say about the umpire. 1. He should invest in proper equipment and ditch the archaic protector. I think it may put it in the coach’s head that he is not a professional.
      2. NEVER say “I know the rules.”
      3. He needs to brush up on HOWTO CALL INTERFERENCE. You never stop play. You wait until the play has completed.

I'm impressed with how patient the ump was here.
First off, the thrown bat was way overtheline. I probably would have tossed that kid right then. He either did it on purpose or has no control over himself. And his coach (and the whole team) is immediately on my watch list. Either way that's too dangerous to let slide.
Then, he makes a point of going to both dugouts to hand out warnings man to man instead of yelling them out from the plate. Very professional and classy.
But the adults here just couldn't help but show their a$$ and i totally support his decision. It's a shame that the kids got their game cut short cuz of their embarrassing parents and coaches but if there were more umps like this strictly enforcing good behavior and decorum, then kid's sports would be in a much better place.
