“Offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik and early-down pass rates. In 2023, the Texans ranked 26th in early-down pass rate at 52% when the game was in question (with win probability between 15-85%). That's the kind of thing teams with bad quarterbacks do, but the Texans have a star in C.J. Stroud (and elite targets, too). Maybe that was Slowik being protective of his rookie, but in 2024, one determination of Houston's offense will be how much Slowik presses the advantage he has in the passing game -- and lets Stroud throw it around on early downs.”

I don’t see the DT position being a weakness. We went from one of the worst run defenses under Lovie to one of the best with Meco. Rankins and Collins have never been known as run stuffers, it was the scheme not the players. Meco will have the new guys ready
DeMeco is such a bright defensive mind that I think he'll have this defense top 10 by the end of the year

Ok, first of all, how do you mispronounce one of the players name on the team you cover? Hein-ish or Big Heinz as John McClain calls him. My question is despite the trade for Diggs, we ran this group back for the most part at Wr. Woods was largely ineffectual, Brown couldn’t stay on the field, Hutchinson and Metchie had very minimal impact when on the field. Metchie is a “feel good story” but even though he is looking good running routes and catching balls, we still have to see that translate to the field. Kenyon Green has done what exactly to merit a starting job? Last I heard Demeco made players earn the starting job, while Green is getting reps with the 1st team, he has yet to pin down the job. DT is the concern? This team went from allowing the 6th most yards rushing per game 170 yards to being towards the top of the league, setting a franchise record for sacks. Rankins was an after thought until last season, Collins was a great pass rusher and horrible run defender. Khalil and Kurt were key rotational pieces and did well in situations. Khalil Davis to me is the better starting option of the two. Fatukasi and Settle are run defenders. Settle was in Buffalo which is similar to the Defense Demeco runs so the transition should be smooth. The second DT next to Autry will be rotating based upon the situation. Demeco and Burke can coach and I worry less about this unit, and have more concerns with the secondary and unproven depth along the O-line. Extend Diggs after we just nullified the final 3 years of his contract? We did Diggs a solid so he could hit the market next season. We won’t be extending him, we would have to resign him and it will only be after he tests the market and see’s what his value is. If we have a successful season in Diggs eyes he may consider coming back or if a market doesn’t materialize. Casserio wants 1 last look to see if he has something in Metchie or Hutchinson, if no he may just look to the draft next year rather than overpaying a 31 year old WR, if there is a market and he commands more than Casserio deems he is worth.
