It's called ASMR. Humans react to things that make subtle noises.
I don't know if this is by design or not, but Tarantino seems to represent and include every necessary life function in each of his movies-EAT, SLEEP, BREATH, and DEFECATION. It really brings the world alive in an authentic way.

Even in that context wouldnt a slave have tried beer before? Or atleast something similar? They definitely wouldve had access to alcohol at some point in their lives, even those born into slavery, this scene doesnt quite make sense too me

We will never know, but I bet Django had not tasted beer before. Maybe his owners were temperate towards alcohol or simply didn’t want to waste it on their slaves. Either way Django did seem to react to the drink as novel.

The white cake from Django and the strudel from Inglourious Basterds wins the Oscar for best dessert. As for the best food i would say the stew from The Hateful Eight. Although my personal favorite will always be the beans from My name is Trinity.

It would of almost made sense to show Django drunk/tipsy - since that was most likely the first time he had ever consumed alcohol (he had a childlike wonder to that first sip). But maybe one beer would not of been enough to do the trick 🤷♂️

Tarantino has said multiple times that he’s generally unconcerned with historical accuracy. As long as a general audience won’t have to suspend their disbelief too much, he’s willing to put plot and creative license over historical accuracy.

This is just a damn good movie. The only complaint I have is the kkk hooded scene. Felt stupid and could have done without. I know there are others that laughed at the scenes but I thought it sucked.
Also the scene where he kills an completely unrealistic amount of people in the house without a single reload being shown. Django got speed reload apparenlty
