      Agreed. It appears that boxing stance he had his last fight has gone. Thank God. He was so stiff and didn't have the chin for it. That's where alot of MMA guys screw themselves. They start training for boxing and forget their roots. His Bruce Lee style is back.

    At 1:15 the spinning wheel kick [in my opinion] is not intended for style points but rather to prevent his sparring partner to circle out and away. Early in his career he was a wizard at gluing his opponts into the cage with spinning kicks to keep them stationary in front of him 🤔

    You never see him spar or train with UFC champ material, similar trajectory to Rousey, stayed with original team, never moved on for greener pastures to train with other hungry elite level fighters. Most fighters who plateau'd move on to other gyms or do half their camp with a grade A gym. Look at former champs like GSP he knew he had to diversify his training, hell look at Micheal Bisping, when he left the UK he got so much better training with better trainers and fighters in the U.S. It is too late now but just imagine Connor trained with elite coaches rather than his friends and trainers from his early career. He survived on talent but declined ever since he took up boxing, got rich and surrounded by 'Yes men'. He left behind his fast counter karate like style and went down hill, ground game never evolved. Like Rousey he has survived on a one dimensional front, for him it is his left hand IF he lands.

    Every time I see Conor spar I see someone that's going to lose a fight. Hes clearing trying his best against people who are not allowed to fight back and still looks like he's struggling. And if they were allowed to fight back as best they could, they're probably crap fighters anyway. I mean 1:22 this is the same knee he done in Poirier 3 at 3:35 the difference is Poirier punched him in the face 3 times after then took him down. But in this sparring its some wonderful skillful attack just because his sparring partner does nothing. And his punching power looks worse than ever 1:43 look at that weak impact he has no chance against any decent ufc fighter punching like that.

    • @Fightconnoisseur96
      @Fightconnoisseur96 Před 27 dny

      1. That knee didn't land cleanly or with any real impact against Poirier, had it connected in the solar plexus as it did here in the sparring, that would obviously have been different.
      2. He is obviously not throwing strikes with full power, because it's a flow sparring sessions.

And he never had a clue on the ground. Now that he’s moving up in weight class, he will lose the punching power advantage he had in the lower weight classes.
