  • This was a very chilled out session - my first time back in the buggy for a couple of years. This is Lake Nadzab/Paranki Lagoon - or what we simply refer to as 'The Claypan' at Kingston SE. I think it was wet last year and we couldn't get on it at all. Pretty close to perfect this year. Kite is my go-to 3.2m Nasa Star 3 from Born-kite.

Hi John, I just wanted to drop a comment here and let you know how much I have enjoyed your videos. I learned almost all of my beginner buggy skills from watching your videos and it really made the sport stick for me. I got my first buggy and taught myself how to ride back in 2013 thanks to you. Now I am just getting back from my 8th straight trip to Jekyll Island Buggy Expo down here in Georgia, USA. I am proud to be a very skilled buggy pilot now and I got my start thanks to you. Cheers!

Good to see you back on a buggy! I got in to power kites from your early "how to fly" video, but circumstances stopped me flying as much as I wanted. I had just learned some buggy basics, but never been back in the buggy for about 3 years. I got 1 day of kiting in last year what with two lockdowns, and when we could travel my usual spots were heaving with staycationers!. what a wonderful place you have to indulge in buggying.

Cheers Duncan. It is a wonderful spot during summer. It's a 5 1/2 drive, but I tend to stay there for a couple of weeks so it's something that myself and many others look forward to every year. This year marked the 20th anniversary of power kiters turning up at Kingston SE for buggying and kite flying.

Wonderful. What an amazing wide open space, the utter silence, with only the wind and tyre to gently break it. Wish I could have joined you there.

Cheers mate. One day we may yet get the chance. You may have to declare the lance & sword before you board though.......
