"P-51D Mustang 850mm (33") Wingspan - PNP from FlightLine - FLW101P
FlightLine and Motion RC has re-imagined the classic P-51D Mustang for 2019 in a beginner-friendly format with accurate styling, gyro-readiness, low operating cost and high fun factor in an easily transportable size! This Mustang features a versatile power system that can use either a 3S or 4S flight battery without needing to change the propeller or ESC. The large battery bay accommodates a wide range of battery sizes, from 3S 1600mAh to an Admiral 4S 2200mAh. Transition from a 30-60mph 3S Trainer to an 80+mph 4S Racer with a simple five second battery change!
Optimized as both a slow speed 3S warbird parkflyer and a 4S sportscale racer, the FlightLine Pocket Warbird series P-51D Mustang can also fit a gyro stabilized receiver such as the Admiral RX600SP 6-Channel DSMX™ Compatible Receiver with Stability Plus Gyro. Easy hand launches are accomplished either overhand or underhand, and balanced wing loading provides precise handling and steady landing characteristics. Say goodbye to precarious nail-biting hand launches - - this Mustang is a breeze to launch with moderate throttle and a firm toss. Separating itself from previous generations of parkflyer warbirds in the sub-900mm class, several design elements increase this Mustang's durability including a long plywood battery plate, reinforced motor firewall, shatter resistant two blade propeller, one-piece wing with carbon spar, servo horn protectors, and plastic sheathed underside fuselage to resist scuffs during landing. The overall result is a balanced model that "flies on rails" like a larger aircraft instead of being "pushed around".
Like the Freewing ParkJet Series of 64mm EDF Jets, the FlightLine Pocket Warbird Series offers modelers a platform for modification and customization. In addition to the structural preparations outlined above, the Mustang also arrives factory painted in satin silver with two different decal sets. Pilots wanting to apply their own color scheme can do so directly over the factory paint without needing to remove any decals. The decal sets are based off of two potential tail colors if you so chose. The green tail is "The Enchantress", piloted by 2nd Lt William Saks. 457th Fighter Squadron, 506th Fighter Group. Iwo Jima, June 1945. The yellow tail is "Shanghai Lil'", piloted by Ed Linfante, 462nd Fighter Squadron, 506th Fighter Group."

Can this be a first warbird? Maybe a receiver with the gyro & a 3S pack? Great flying & filming, awesome color scheme as well
It could be if you are very used to hand launching other low-winged planes. If not, I would recommend a T-28 with landing gear over this. It also depends on your budget, your crash tolerance, what you have flown before, and where you fly.
GBLynden's RC Thank you, technically this won’t be my first low wing. I do fly a wing (hand launch), Freewing Pandora (low wing setup), UMX T28 & UMX Pitts. But, I guess this will be the first fast plane 😊 I had lot of troubles with the FMS 800mm P51, hence treading carefully here

What paints did you use to paint this P51? Spray paint or with a brush? I'm just using standard water based acrylic paint and applying with a brush or foam brush. Would prefer a smoother finish though.
I have no idea what Roy did for this plane. I will see if I can get him to answer as I have never painted an RC Plane.
How did you peel off the stickers on that paper for that plain
I think they are waterslide decals. Research those and it will probably make more sense.
