I like the sound, it's cleaner and clearer.
Ich habe sehr gespannt auf den neuen Song gewartet, sogar ein wenig hingefiebert. Klingt nicht schlecht, aber mir fehlt mittlerweile das gewisse etwas bei Equi. Ich kann es auch nur schwer beschreiben, aber mich nimmt der aktuelle Stil nicht mit. Ja es klingt ganz ok, aber ich höre da nicht Equi raus, was sonst der Fall war. Nach jedem Sängerwechsel hat die Band auch ein Stück ihrer DNA verloren. Ich bin mal auf das neue Album gespannt, ob da noch etwas gerettet wird. Und ich werde nicht müde zu sagen, dass man auch mit deutschen Texten international erfolgreich sein kann. Auch das hat Equi in der Vergangenheit besonders gemacht. Ich habe so langsam das Gefühl, dass wird nix mehr mit uns ...😔

Bring back the old Equilibrium
Awesome song and one of my favorites from this year. I think it's okay for bands to try something new if they feel like it. I can still always go back and listen to Sagas or Rekreatur if I'm in the mood for something more folky.
This is better than Shelter imo.
I have to warm up to the vocalist still but I like the "uplifting" melancholic sound the song seems to have overall.

I'd say definitely a better direction than the last single, there's a lot of equilibrium nostalgia here and there, I like it..... Again like all EQ songs, you need to listen more than 10 times to realize the hidden parts of their songs...

I'm not sure why I even listen to new Equilibrium songs any more. I love the old albums and I hope every time they release something new that they might go back to their good old sound, but it just becomes worse and worse with every new song...

And yes, Equilibrium is and will always be my favorite band.

@@bannanateam Yes, unfortunately so. I kinda feel like that was the "issue" with Robse, that he was more in favour of the old style. He seem way more into the folk metal side than Rene.

@@ThomasCarstein Well, unlike you and the commentor you're agreeing with, Rene has actually grown up. He's 42 now, when they released "Turis Fratyr" he was 23. For most people, the reality of life changes within 19 years through new experiences, fresh perspectives etc. you gain on that path called life. It's totally fine to not like this stuff, but Rene isn't doing this because he's some sort of puppet, he's just a different person now.

The video has not yet been released, but the song is already available.
It sounds high quality, good recording and mixing.
However, the music, the vocals, the combination of both have no hooks for me at all. It seems that the more experience Rene has, the less inspiration he has.
Unfortunately, I'd rather listen again to the poorly recorded Rekreatur, or even Demo 2003, than listen to these new songs.
I'm horrified by my conclusion, but I think even the music from Renegades album was better, than two new songs.

These new songs are just bland and uninspiring. Rene is basically just following the sound of every other generic cliche metal band these days. And it’s no surprise the production and mix is decent; most bands that make generic music go for a loud, over produced sound so it sounds big to compensate. I still think Rene should have put Equilibrium on the side and made a side project or just binned the band in all and started a new one. Bands and musicians change, but doesn’t always mean it’s a good change.

Majority of artists are going to do what they want regardless of feedback they hear. Langsam aber sicher darf man wohl jede Hoffnung aufgeben dass Equilibrium nochmal was Richtung Turis Fratyr/Sagas machen. Einfach nur schade dass eine der ehemals geilsten Pagan/Folk Bands jetzt auch nur noch generischen Metalcore macht.
Ich bin auch traurig, dass Equilibrium in ihrem neuen Werk nicht zu ihren Wurzeln zurückgekehrt sind. Aber zum Glück gibt es noch neue Bands, die alten Pagan Folk Metal mit Würde und Können spielen. Ich möchte meinen, dass du hast noch nie Metalcore gehört hast, wenn du das Lied für solchen hältst.
Die Band hat sich musikalisch weiterentwickelt, und ich hör hier immer noch sehr 100% Equilibrium. Es ist auch OK, wenn du das nicht mehr magst, weil Geschmack nun mal Geschmackssache ist. Aber das als "generischen Metalcore" abzutun finde ich nicht nachvollziehbar.

Da muss ich dich enttäuschen bin durch Metalcore zum Metal gekommen und hab dementsprechend viel metalcore gehört.
Der Gesang die Breakdowns die Produktion geht einfach absolut Richtung generischen modernen Metalcores. Und nur weil immer noch epische und hymnische Melodien dabei sind ist es für mich eben nicht mehr 100% Equilibrium. Turis Fratyr, Sagas und in Teilen auch noch Rekreatur waren einfach soviel mehr.
Und damit will ich auch nicht Sagen dass es Musikalisch oder Handwerklich schlecht ist, ich trauere einfach den "alten" Equilibrium nach und glaube dass die soviel mehr hätten sein können als eine von hunderten anderen relativ austauschbaren Modern Metal/Metalcore bands.@@LordFuturama

Yeha, change is great, but it's just sound like less ... equilibrium. I love the synth, but I miss the epicness and fantasy landscapes and stories, the songs would take me on. Sagas is still my fav, hope we might hear similiar/evolved music from them.

I remember hearing Unter der Eiche like 20 years ago and being blown away. When Sagas came out, from the first listening I considered it a masterpiece. After all the lineup changes I forgot Equilibrium, but now I stumbled upong this and.... nah, this is not EQ anymore

So, wie ihr euch ausprobiert, ist es ein sinnvollerer Weg für euch, auch wenn wir alle nicht den gewohnten Folk-Metal heraushören. Ihr habt euch eben verändert und viele sehen das nicht gerne. Aber ich weiß, dass für einen Song viel Zeit geopfert wird. Die Ansprüche von den gewohnten Zuhörern sind eben recht hoch.
Ich fand ebenso einige Veränderungen von eurem Stil zu sehr an gewohnte anderer Bands hinentwickelt, aber man hört auch noch den eigenen Stil heraus, und das Lied ist gut gemacht.
Der Punkt ist der: Probiert weiter und weiter, ihr schafft das schon, sowohl euch zu gefallen, als auch neuen Zuhörern. Die alten Lieder kann man ja immer noch hören. Das waren ja auch noch ganz andere Musiker. Was ich noch wichtig finde für die neuen Lieder ist auch dieser Stil, wie ihr es in den Instrumentals, wie Mana, hattet. Das war höchste Kunst von den Melodien. Ich glaube, dass den meisten neben diesem Folk-Stil vor allem das epische ausgefallene künstlerisch hochbegabte fehlt. Mach doch mal ein Instrumental, die Musik sollte auch ohne Sänger hörbar sein. Den neuen Sänger finde ich sehr gut. Vielleicht probiert ihr auch noch mal ein bisschen Clean-Vocals mal dazu. Die Growls, und das Screamen könnt ihr auf jeden Fall jetzt auch gut. Das muss so ein richtiges Scheißgefühl sein, wenn alle nur dem alten hinterhertrauern.
Ich gebe euch nicht auf!
