Setting Up a BASIC PEDALBOARD on the Line 6 POD HD500x

- What's up guys?! Today we're going to set up a basic pedalboard on the Line 6 POD HD500x. We'll be able to press footswitches to turn effects on and off just like we would on a traditional pedalboard. In this video we'll learn basic navigation on the 500x, how to add and customize effects, and how to assign those effects to footswitches.

I love this tutorial. I was almost gonna trade my POD HD 500x in to get something different until I saw this video. I have never seen any video that explains how to use the unit in very lay man’s terms as this one. You’re amazing!

Great video. I did learn the basics of this years ago. Then it has sat for a LONG time :). I now have 2 external pedals so I used this method, and I have the fx loop on. The part I didn't know of ( didn't read the setttings ) was the use of the expression/wah pedal. Now I can have even more fun. Cheers!.

Thanks John, what I was hoping for is to have a sound from A assigned to FS1, B sound to FS2, and so on if that is possible . So far no one has addressed this possibility. Thanks for listening
Hey John - have you played around with the microphone input to see if you can apply effects to vocals (maybe delay, reverb, etc) and then split the guitar and vocal to outputs left and right? Really like your videos on the HD500X. John

Great video congratulations!! I would like to ask you if I should use the simulation of amp from the pedalboard with the physical amp or not. I mean should I use the simulation of the amp and the clean on the physical amps? Should I put only the effects from the pedalboard and use the sound from the physical amp? Or should I use the simulation amp from the pedalboard combined with the physical amp knobs (drive, treble etc) I am really confused help.

I just wipe it down with a microfiber towel👍 If your 500x is really dirty try a damp towel. But just don't get water inside the 500x!
Look into monster wipes they'll take off anything, they're damp but dry super quick.
This is great thanks. But can you do it without picking an amp ? I have a hot rod deluxe that I like how do I get it so I am using my amp ?
I have had mine for about 5 months or so now and it is great I would recommend learning enough to kind of just set it up happy call Mom set your effects Loop and there is well so you have your own pedals going through it cuz you definitely want to have some outside pedals I think this thing sounds good but dirt pedals some of those things sound better externally chorus pedal. Babe you got to go back to that meal you all and start digging through it got to go through that thing at least one used your odd for a couple of months and then keep going back to that manual once every several weeks cuz there's so many options that you're not using the thing is really good
Did you have a chance to compare the 500x with the Helix/HX Stomp? If yes, did you notice a significant upgrade on your tone?
So can you use the amp models in the board if you're running through an external amp ?
Is there a way to disable the looper switch?
Hey there, what about if I wanted to use the 500X as a pedalboard only? No amp models.
Do you recommend me getting one in 2020? From your knowledge is it better than the Firehawk?
If you use the amp model (no external amp), do you hook up the HD500x to external speakers?
I just got a 500 and am trying to find out if I can assign all eight foot switches to 8 different effects and have the expression pedal for volume,wah all in one patch or am I limited to just eight total including the expression pedal?
How to used the loop without cut?cause my loop doesn't looping theirs a cut everytime I record for loop
I have mine set up (ABCD) cuz I usually just download patches because I have trouble making presets on my own lol. My question is.. is it possible to set them up as I’m changing a patch to another that it won’t cut off the sound quickly and have it just fade away so it won’t be so obvious. Not sure if I’m making sense lol. Thank you

Why not use the edit software?
Can you make something about the loop option? Is there a way to loop longer than 15. - 20 seconds? It seems there is limit on how long it can loop. Sucks
Yeah for sure. I'm planning on doing a looper video in the nearish future.
Why don't show how to use the PC download you can use to edit with ? The screen / format is big and easy to use , plus you can create the video with just the screen and the editing . Just a suggestion.

How do i move the mixer block?
Because my amp block is just 2 blocks from thr 1st one. I wanted to put more gain staging but i cant because i cant move the amp and the mixer to the other blocks
