- Hi! So excited to share this review of the Chanel WOC (wallet on chain) in black caviar leather. In this video, I will show you all the features of the bag, plus what fits inside and what it looks like with and without a base insert.
I purchased this WOC pre-loved in NEW condition from Fashionphile for $2,425 (slightly below the most recent retail price). It was my first experience buying pre-loved anything and my first experience with Fashionphile as a buyer. Love love love!!!
Also, purchased the base insert from MBoutique on Etsy for approx $20.

The base shaper is in fact a definitive game changer. It optimises space and defines the structure of this piece making it truly versatile and capable of holding much more than you think. On a trip to Japan, it enabled to to carry my large iPhone, spf handcream, A6 notebook, pen, cash, passport, lipstick, lip balm, hotel key and my subway card. It makes your woc an elegant workhorse

kylesmommy26 Hi!! They sell a newer model in the boutiques - it’s the same expect with magnetic closure (instead of snap)!

I know that you mix metals with jewelry, but how did you decide between selecting silver over gold for the hardware?
For the WOC I knew I’d want to wear it casually and also be able to dress it up, and I feel silver hardware is more versatile in that way. To me, silver feels a tad bit more youthful and casual as opposed to gold. It was purely a personal preference. Hope this helps!
I bought my first Chanel ever, which is the WOC in black caviar leather, two weeks ago! I also have the new model which has the magnetic closure and with a gold hardware for the zipper pull so there would be no indents from it. I am so in love! Anyway, I do have one concern. How is the wear on the top corners of the Chanel WOC where the chain strap rubs against as you wear the bag??? I watched videos where people did complain about the corners rubbing off and they recommended to cover with a twilly or something. I am scared to use it now. Why did Chanel make this kind of design? I wish they made it somehow like the mini flap bags where the leather is protected by having the straps go through the round hardware.
Sandra Congrats on your first Chanel!! 🎉 The new WOC model is great - you made a good choice! 👍 I haven’t had any issue with the chain rubbing on the sides. I would just be careful not to pull on the chains while the WOC is closed. I think the fact that the WOC does not have grommets for the chain actually makes it look more chic and minimalist, which I ❤️. Enjoy!! 😉

If it really bothers you, you can send it in for servicing either with Chanel or with a repair service like Leather Surgeons.
Are you able to show what you could fit in the WOC
I think this is the only Chanel or even high-end designer bag I want in my life. I've been thinking of just getting the Mulberry Small Darley because I keep telling myself I don't need Chanel and just need the WOC feature... but idk I feel like getting the Mulberry still won't scratch the itch so maybe I should just go and get the real deal even if it's at least 3x more expensive lol.
Ohh the price difference is quite significant but I understand what you mean! If you’re not satisfied with the Mulberry version, you may wind up getting the Chanel anyway and then you’ll have two WOCs! 😬 Have you seen the Chanel WOC in person or tried it on? That may help with your decision!

@@hellocatwalkcity I haven't tried it but I have seen it on other people irl and I really really love the look, size, shape, and basically all of it it!
After commenting this I actually ended up getting a different WOC (Kate Spade because it was on huge sale only around 99 USD lol so i think I'll settle for now and see if a WOC is really something I want/need in my life). I had hesitations on Mulberry's bright gold hardware but fell in love with the Kate Spade Knott Flap at first sight even if it doesn't have as luxurious leather.
And because I saved money on the Mulberry, I was able to get another bag style I've been wanting for a long time (convertible backpack ala LV palm springs but what I got is the plain black Givenchy Nano Backpack, best is it's preloved so I can mindlessly use it for my intention - travel/festivals) so I think I'm good for now and save the real Chanel WOC for a life milestone or something!
