You should do a part two and include : “I don’t want to work a 9 to 5 like regular people” & “I don’t want to work for someone else’s dream, I’m my OWN boss” 😂 I swear every guy in my town says that shit and opens up a hookah bar/security company that closes 8 months later Btw. No shade to entrepreneurs but I just hate it when they act like it makes them better than people with a “regular” job
My husband was sadly like that when we first started dating. Was so into being "His own boss" and in charge that he kept taking his "job" for granted. He was a sub contractor making $25/hrs but was always taking off work and stretching jobs that would only take a day or two into a whole week. That, with letting his unreliable, sketchy ex friends tag along on jobs really screwed him in the end. He's been working for a tech/transportation company for a while now with great pay, steady schedule and nice benefits and loves it! He cringes anytime someone brings up that past job, openingly admitting he was acting like a dumbass back then and had let his ego get to his head.
Same here! Thanks for sharing! Those are the same people that overshare pics of their supercars or other luxury items, which all they caption is “only hang around people with more money than you”, “stop being lazy”, and a lot of other lines. Most of them are true though, but what I’m trying to say is that most of the stuff being said is cliche
When I left my front desk job at the YMCA, the CEO’s parting advice to me was that I should buy a house as soon as possible. I was like... Bro you of all people know I wasn’t getting paid enough here to do that. 😅
The thing that strikes me as odd about *young* entrepreneurs is that being really great at something take experience, especially STEM, which inherently comes with time. I intern at an engineering startup, and they're successful bc the two people who founded it are seasoned professionals in their field, not some know-nothing money-grabbing wanna-bes.
I think the people that fit into this sterotype tend to be business-ey type people who dont know anything about making something / engineering. Like their business is... business not an actual product. Which allows younger, less experienced people to get out there.
@@platinumpineapple9943 You'd have to be local to the city they/I live in (midwest, US). I don't think they're looking to hire more people atm sadly. As for what they do, we're all Electrical Engineers, we design various imaging sensor ICs for defense contracts.
Like that episode with the sisters who were trying to promote their ice cream sandwiches. They basically weren't only wasting money by buying special refrigerators for their product instead of just letting grocery stores use their own(didn't explain why they COULDN'T use the regular ones that were available) but also made it sound like they didn't have a future job plan for all of their assembly line workers once they got their new assembly machines. I wasn't able to finish the episode but I hope Shark Tank rejected them because it sounded like even if they had the millions they asked for they didn't have a coherent long term plan to begin with.

The best they can do is fire hose you with a bunch of words and motivational phrases that sound like they were put together from a business school textbook and a Tony Robbins seminar.
