- How to replace a toilet seat is quite simple, first you need to determine what style of toilet you have. You will either have to replace a round toilet seat or an elongated toilet seat. In this video, Lou demonstrates a toilet seat replacement using an elongated toilet seat. No matter what type of toilet you’re replacing, you will need the toilet seat fasteners, toilet seat screws, and the toilet seat anchor. Make sure to pay attention to the manual and don’t throw away any old pieces until the new toilet seat is successfully installed!

I am a single woman in her 60s and have a little house that the previous owner did not take care of or keep up, so I am having to do it myself since income is very limited. I was able to takeoff the old plastic worn out toilet seat. The bolts that were tightened so tight that one of the underneath screws tabs broke which made it so difficult to loosen. It took me about an hour, a lot of swear words and some WD-40 to finally get that loose enough to where I could unscrew the bolts, but I did it, and the new wood slow closing lid is finally on and I am so proud of what I accomplished. I know it’s not much, but when you can’t kneel and your strength is limited, this is such a big fat hairy deal. 👏🍾🍷 Thank you again and I will be watching more of your videos.

You saved me I thought I bought the wrong kind of seat, I was cleaning my old seat and ended up cleaning alittle too hard and basically sanded thru the paint and was at partial wood, so I just got a new seat and thought this doesn’t look right. I dunno what I’d do without this video
