    Funny how so much of life comes back around to everything you learn as a child. Be nice to everyone. Get along. Be a team player. Work hard. 😁

    I am currently a junior in college and I have to retake organic chemistry this spring. I have been watching your channel for a while now. Definitely nice to know that this won't matter after I get through these Chem classes and the MCAT.

    Hey Dr.Webb! Great video as always. I’m going to start my first year of college soon. I want to do medicine but I am scared based on some of the things I’ve heard that I won’t be able to focus on my life outside of the hospital, like forming and family, because medicine is so time consuming. Any tips or thoughts?

    You should do a video reacting to the announcement that USMLE Step 1 Exam will be Pass/Fail beginning 2022. Also if you have any insight or if you could contact current higher ups of orthopedic surgery residencies and ask how they will now determine who to accept into their residency programs now that they will not be able to use a high Step 1 score as a heavy criteria. I would love any advice what I can do to make myself stand out to residency programs where Step 1 scores aren’t a factor because this change will take place with my class being the first to go through it

    Hey Dr. Webb, I am a foreign medical graduate currently applying to residency in the United States. It has always been my dream to train in the States. I have always been extremely passionate about Orthopedics and especially Sports Medicine. However, due to the competitive nature of Orthopedic residency international graduates find it close to impossible to match into it. As an alternative, I would like to do a fellowship in Sports Medicine post IM/EMD residency. Could you provide an insight into this subspecialty and maybe even do an interview with a Sports Medicine Physician you know? Thanks and keep up the great work.

    Dr. Webb, I would love to hear your thoughts on affirmative action and the impact on the black community. Maybe even your wife can offer her thoughts. I recently viewed a video and that was the topic. It definitely has me thinking about some things. I am half Hispanic and half white, so it is an interesting topic.

    • @apeman939

      Affirmative action certainly makes grades matter less lol

      Negatively affect Asian candidates to top tier schools.

    • @apeman939
      @apeman939 Před 4 lety

      @daniel boom That may be in some cases true, but it is unambiguously true that a black person doesn't need to work nearly as hard or succeed to the extent that a white man would to have the same result. I have two friends that illustrate this well: both of them have a 3.6 GPA and a 520 MCAT. The white one has an insanely good application, my black friend has a much more modest and "cookie cutter" application. White guy got into a state school, black guy has multiple Ivy acceptances. Yes, a black person has to perform and succeed to get into med school (or residency for that matter) but whites, asians, and men need better numbers and experiences to be on the same playing field.
