Early recovery after TPLO

Many factors affect speed of recovery after TPLO. Factors associated with a faster recovery include:
* Dogs with partial tears (i.e. early diagnosis and treatment)
* Knees without cartilage injuries (i.e. meniscal tear)
* One study showed lean dogs recovered significantly more quickly
* Skilled surgeons limit the risk of complications which can delay recovery and increase cost
* Owners who follow the post-operative care plan carefully are more likely to have a smooth recovery
Although surgeons must offer average recovery forecasts, there's no such thing as an average dog and no such thing as an average recovery.
