  • Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) degeneration is a genetic problem. This explains why dogs with injuries in one knee often injure the same ligament in their opposite knee. This dog ruptured both ACL’s at the same time, and a combination of daily painkillers and physical therapy produced limited improvement.
This first post-operative video was captured 12-h after bilateral TPLO. Although we often use sling support at this stage, our patient was more comfortable without one. Her rapid improvement in comfort and confidence is typical. The important challenge at this stage of recovery is preventing high-impact exercise, because dogs who run, jump, or climb stairs are more likely to suffer a setback.

My dog just had this done and is doing well after a month.
The cost stings still but she is worth it.
