- Not a battle of titans but a comparison of two “old school” powder level monitor devices. Especially helpful for cowboy shooters loading small charges into big ol’ cases.
I stated that one of the advantages of the Powder Cop is that it can be used for rifle or pistol cartridges. The RCBS Lockout Die only works with straight wall pistol cartridges. I am able to use it for .44-40 which has a slight bottleneck or shoulder.
I was just looking at each of these solutions and wondering which was better. And just like that, I came across this great video, thanks.
I use the RCBS lock out die on my Dillon 650. Works very well.
Thanks. You’ve helped me decided which one to go with, RCB for sure
Glad it was helpful. I found a second Lockout Die on clearance. I leave one set for my smokeless .38 Special “pet load”.
Great demonstration
Thanks you answered my question , informative !!
Can you use the rcbs lock out due on rifle calibers?
It is only supposed to work with straight wall cartridges. I added the Powder Cop to the stable for use with bottleneck rifle cartridges like .223.
