    I personally believe there is no differentiating between going flying and going out ground handling. Put your harness all the way on put your helmet on and be ready to get plucked right up off the ground.

    for me it is flying if i have time to get seated in my harness, while groundhandling you always keep the landing gear down ;-)

    i've taken off from the flat (there is a dune afterwards) beach at esposende. when the wind is strong enough you can just "do a little hop" and the wing takes care of the rest.

    Not sure your definition of flying makes sense, because by your definition speedflying would be called ground handling. Still a fun video, can't wait to get in the air, I'm working on getting my P2 (US paragliding certification) this summer!

      Maybe it's speedfalling (with style) :P

      I agree with Andre's definition of flying (be able to go any direction in the air including up and down)and because speedflying you are basically gliding down the mountain or soaring should be rename as speedgliding

      Yes, then there's wing suits which is like space shuttle glide so... Me too working on P2, where abouts? Me in Vernon BC

    Your flying anytime your not falling meaning leave the ground using anything that might extend an otherwise fall either in or out of control.

    Aww, man, you just called my 30 some bunny hill hops as not flying, hopefully I'll get to fly this summer, last summer I only managed to get towed twice and it was the most thrilling thing ever, hopefully I'll be able to get to cloudbase some time in the near future :)

    I love the videos. But I’ve spent way too much time on Google maps trying to locate the beach. Could anyone spell it out here please? I just can’t hear what André is saying when he is presenting the location at the beginning of the video. Thank you ahead of time for the help!

    I would like to propose that “flight” is when you have enough thrust, lift, or altitude, to be able to accelerate to trim speed. What do you think of that?

    • @AndreBandarra1
      @AndreBandarra1  Před 5 lety

      It's an interesting point! I'm not really sure, it always has to be taking into context I think. I'm sure for a helicopter, or paper airplane or Boeing 747 they might mean different things?

    Hey guys.
    You make such well made videos and have such clockwork uploads, as well as your microphone having fabulous sound pick up on the beach. I would be curious to know what it is.
    As to the tandem aiding the Misty, lets analyze.
    Do you need more ballast? Or is the mass of the passenger translating into speed. Perhaps you need speed. :@ Please be careful, and thanks so much for my morning videos!

    • @AndreBandarra1
      @AndreBandarra1  Před 5 lety

      Speed helps and small wing/long lines help. But in this particular case it was nice that the extra passenger gave me extra speed but then bailed at the right point :P It's also totally doable without btw, we were just joking around :)
