I think classic black Dr Martens also count as timeless!
oh for sure!! i'm obsessed with mine, they're also workwear!

This video confirms my recent realization that lot of the same concepts can be timeless but trends may lie in the color, material, particular cut/shape, the overall styling, and paired accessories 🫶🤩 Thank you for making this, vids like these are helpful for those of us who need help building a solid wardrobe that lasts
Well said!
I love your example of how some items can be timeless depending on where you live. As a Brazilian who loves football, football jerseys have always been part of my aesthetic -- and many Brazilians relate to this. And of course I love it that they have become trendy 😂
I think ballet flats can sometimes be considered trendy just based on some brands recent adaptations of the original, classic style (many have bows added to them and look more like a shoe inspired by a ballet flat than an actual ballet flat but are still marketed as being a regular ballet flat) love your vids btw and this video has helped me reconsider some purchases i was going to make based on whether or not id be wearing it in a few months depending on whether it seemed like a timeless or trendy piece ❤❤❤
bows on ballet flat were always a thing tho.. but i agree that the association of those two timeless pieces by some brands at a time where they became overly popular does make them seem like a trend
i feel like ballet flats are trending right now, but will always be in style. they just recently came back into style. they may seem trendy because of how they are styled, but they are a very classic shoe
@@AmarachiOkeke-cp6tr exactly! I always wear ballet flats around spring time and I'm so happy to see them come back in trend, so I can find more pieces that I like!
honestly i think the corest tops, especially the patterned amazon ones lol, are pretty 2020 trend i think
i'd say the amazon ones are trendy for sure but corsets as a concept is timeless, more timeless if you do it properly
@@chisom. I think its really fun when people draw from diff. time periods to change the neckline/bustier of corsets, defo makes it more interesting :D
I think investing intentionally in a simple ethical corset is timeless 💚
I came to the comments after that crochet comment. Glad to see other people picked it out too. Machines aren't capable of creating crochet items like knit things, so you can't buy true crochet clothing in stores. I agree about the trendiness of that specific style of colorful, fake-crochet sweaters with loose stiches, but crochet as a whole, I don't think, can be trendy. That's like saying knit sweaters are trendy. Crochet pieces can be trendy depending on the pattern/colors you choose or the pattern of the piece, but crochet by itself is timeless.
Thanks for saying this. As a crocheted I was taken back by that. I have made and seen many pieces that are timeless. There are some patterns that have been around for multiple generations. Surely those are timeless.
I agree with everything but the crochet one, I think it is timeless because it takes so much time to make. And it might was a little bit trendy in recent years because it‘s more sustainable. But I must say I‘m a bit biased haha
tartan is scottish !!
i HATE low rise and mid rise, so high rise pants for me LOL!! in most vintage fashion, their pants are high rise anyway (i dress inspired by the 1920s-1940s)
i hate high rise because i'm so short they make me look like i have no torso 😔
@@user-yg3wg7ik2s i'm short too (4'9), i guess my torso is a bit longer lol. personally, they make my legs look longer
So basically….basics are timeless because foundation will always be foundation. Anything added on will be trendy.
I think leg warmers are timeless, they were worn in the 1800s, here in the uk kids wear them with school uniform, they were popular in the 80s and have had a massive rise since 2020… I think they’ve earned their spot as a basic. Everyone needs a good pair of comfy white leg warmers
agreed, also they’re practical and are used be ballerinas and figure skaters!!
I always think twice before buying an item; I think of what I can wear with it and I think of if I'm going to want to wear them for at least a few years, and I'm happy to see that most of my wardrobe was mentioned here! Timeless fashion is also more sustainable, which is why I opt for it, but I also like to accessorize with little finds, a lot of my clothes are hand-downs and thrifted, which is funny considering it's mostly timeless?
I will always wear crochet because im a crocheter and it's so fun to make for me😍
i just want to startoff by saying no hate i really enjoy your videos i just wanted to let you know
Tartan is from Scotland, not Ireland
THANK YOU !! skinny jeans are timeless, the current hate makes no sense!! Under riding boots??? Hello !!
I think skater skirt is a timeless piece personally 😇
CLICKED SO FAST 😭😭 great vid as always
aww tysm ily 🥹🥲💕
Oh my Goddess, finally someone sane!!!

tartan is scottish😁
i agree with most of these! i especially love how you pointed out the trendiness by regions and irl vs online. however, I've been noticing that a lot of things that are considered timeless in general are just minimalist and keeping up with the elegant city lady aesthetic, which as a maximalist I find kind of boring. i know that maximalist style is more personal and doesn't rely on either trendy or timeless pieces, but I would love to hear your thoughts on some more extreme/out there pieces that you think are timeless!
i completely agree with you! i really feel like ‘timeless’ is subjective depending on the individuals personal needs including their personal style. I used to have a problem with these types of videos because in the past i didn’t utilise the advice well and just ended up having a wardrobe that was practical but didn’t feel exciting to me. I think a piece is timeless if the person loves it and wears it for as long as they can while still being practical for their life
omg I love this video!! Your channel in general is so cool, you make content that keeps me interested the whole way through, i love this!! You’re so pretty btw 😭💗
I think establish what makes you feel good rather than restrict yourself to basic pieces isnt that great as well. These basics usually have specific fit that are caters to what’s trendy now. Jeans will always be timeless but right now wide leg are popular while skinny fit is out. Just a few years ago with the 80s fever mom jeans were on trend. And so on. So instead of hyper fixating on whats timeless vs trendy, find what silhouettes flatter you and make you feel good and work your way up. The foundation is important to not hate your wardrobe in the long run. Some good example of someone that has found their silhouettes and stick with it is probably anna wintour. She has specific go to fit that if you look from time to time she always look timeless. It took me a lot of time to figure out this and why i always hate crop top with high waisted pants that accentuate my narrow hips while others look amazing. Someone said that you buy the clothes but not the body and that is something that often overlook by people, including me.
The only one I disagree with is the checkered pattern. Its come and gone as a trend since the 50s. So, I'd say its timeless because of that. I think depends on how its styled, too. Like when it was paired with the red roses and blue butterflies was definitely a trend. The checkered Vans are definitely timeless. Theyre the most popular shoe from Vans, which goes back to the 1960s.
i didn't know i needed this video until i watched it ❤
loooved this!!
After watching this my closest is gonna look amazing. I think a type of cropped top can be timeless athletes in the 90s wore them. Than we had long sleeve with a tie up around the chest that gives a 70 vibe and now we have tube tops. A form of short shirt will always be in
I love people in the comments saying that a given thing is timeless not trendy, cause I feel like the video talks about general rules but our personal styles can make everything different
perfect video. on point! ❤
That was so good, thank you 🥰
I love your channel!! Such quality content ✨
Thank you so much!! 😊
Love this video! I try to just follow what works for me. High rise jeans have never worked on my body type, I've always been a low-rise type (not Britney Spears level) so I'm happy they're more accessible again. If it's in fashion, great - it's more easily accessible but if not, it's no big deal because I can use secondhand sites.
I'm from the UK and everyone's uncle or dad owns a pair of sambas. I think they'll be dropped by younger people soon but the older 'football lads' will keep wearing them. Very interesting
leg warmers are timeless to me because of practicality, as they are very good to wear for fitness/exercise type things for example ballet, providing warmth to your joints to limit injury whilst still being cute and simple, a classic white or black leg warmer can never go wrong in my opinion and can match so many “styles” :)
VERY good video!! Thank you very much for saying that skinny jeans are timeless! I wear them almost every day since i was about 8yo (now im 18). I sometimes feel ashamed bc of it around people dressed trendy but now more people can see those jeans as something that will always look good, no mather what is trending at the moment ❤
Honestly girly I love you content. Please for the love of time management. Can you link your videos after you reference them? I just spent 5 min trying to find “real life vs online style.“ thanks queen 😅❤
i'm so sorry yes i will 🩷
Loveee your videos loveee you
I love this type of video
thank u !!!
Glad you liked it!!
I loved this video ❤
early! im hoping to use ur vids to become more fashionable and find my own style for when i get to college!
aww yay i really came into my style in college too, it's like fresh slate cause nobody knows you lol lmk if i can help in any way
@@chisom. tysm!! I’ll definitely let you know if I need any help, the main problem right now is that it’s hard to find anything affordable other than fast fashion from the same two stores in my country and if u want anything cute it has to be shipped from the us or uk which can be overpriced. I’ll be going to the us for uni so I’ll be able to get some cute staples of any wardrobe when I get there and hopefully curate a wardrobe as I go on!
@@opalitecrystalyou should try shopping on second hand websites! Shipping from the us costs a lot where i live too so i try to find clothes from american stores on resell websites. You can save a lot on the price of the item and on the shipping this way
Currently trying to build a timeless wardrobe that still fits my style, so this video came out at the perfect moment ☺
Finally here early 😁
Great video! Just a note, tartan comes from kilts which originate from Scotland, not Ireland :)
Oh thanks!
Tartan = & Scotland
ur right my bad

Yayyy brazil

What abt oxford shoes?
i'd say they're pretty timeless. oxfords have been around for a long time. it totally depends on what the oxford looks like, i think. if they have a chunky heel or a platform, its more trendy. if they have a low heel, classic sole, then its pretty timeless.
i agree with this
how can workwear be timeless, but cargo pants be trendy? cargos came from the army in the 1940’s, nothing more practical than that.
good point! i realize i don't know everything about fashion lol but this definitely makes sense
‘Timeless’ and every single image in the thumbnail is a trend 🤣
and yet you clicked
erm.. hater 🤢 ick
circle skirts trendy...? nah 😂
you think they're timeless?
@@chisom. yeah, I would say that full circle skirts and half circle skirts at any length are clean and simple enough as a pattern to be considered classic. But that's just my opinion :) Good video!
Came here for this comment 😂😂 literally there is no more timeless silhouette to me than the circle skirt/blouse combo or A line dresses (which are basically the same just sewn together) haha
I guess that applies more to longer hemlines rather than the short one on screen here? But they‘re still circle skirts at that length.
Minimalist propagandaaaa
being trendy isn't a bad thing
wb uggs!?
depends on where you live. if you live in a cold or snowy area where a heavy warm boot is needed, they are timeless. i'd say trendy for every other region since they look out so of place
no shade but this video is legit a carbon copy of drew joiner's. at least credit him ):
Multiple people can have the same idea you know, how can you be sure she got the idea from him?
Love your videos
Love you 🩷
