- Testing out some new drugstore makeup with my friend, Karynne! We tried out the new Les Macarons pro matte liquid lipsticks from L'Oreal side by side and shared our thoughts, so you get two perspectives with this video. It's more fun with a friend :) I also conducted a wear test with one of these at the end of the video so you can see how they wear throughout the day ... worth it or NAH?

Gosh i would have not imagined the major diff in some of the lipsticks between the skintones. I have not seen a comparison done like this for lipsticks. Great job 😀😀😀
It's fascinating! The first video we did together was on the Maybelline 'Made for All' line that was supposed to be designed around every skin tone and it was neat to see what a great job they did on those colors!
So surprised more influencers don't do this. A lot of lighter colors can be used but we need a dark liner so it does not mesh into our face lol! I enjoyed this alot

It's so fascinating how the same lipsticks swatch differently on different skin tones. This video is super eye opening to me. I do wonder, though, whether the formula is different from the Maybelline Super Stay line. I have one of their liquid lips and they are super long lasting and a bit sticky when they go on. I just wish the shade range for that line was broader.
These are l'oreal lipsticks so they are different than the Maybelline ones, though I do think the formula is comparable. 🥰
Oh my, I found that i get overwhelmed everytime i check out the Maybelline counter because they have too many shades in the matte ink line. lol
I wish the color ranges were broader too, for both maybelline and loreal.
As for whether they are similar, I own several shades from both brands and find that the maybelline ones even when fully dry are a bit sticky on my lips. When they start fading, the fade is quite obvious. For the loreal ones, when they dry down they dry down to a nice powdery matte and don't bother me. They fade a lot more evenly and discreetly. When it comes to taking them off I can take off the maybelline one a lot easier than the loreal one.

Please, please do Lisa Eldridge's pink lipsticks review with your BFF if you decide to get the set. That would be highly interesting on different skin tones.
This is what I've notice. Light skin tone bring our the overtones whil dark skin tones bring out the undertones.
Nice observation... I am tan myself and I always look for lipstick that have mostly warmer undertones except for reds. blue toned red are the ones suited me not warm reds..

@@yachishairclips2250 so interesting, I tan easily, never burn & am middle of the road shade wise. Winter, I can rock either blue or warm reds. Summer? I love corals, so I'll have to pull out a blue based red to see.

Edit: we are the same then. I also tan very easily when exposed to sun and will turn lighter in weeks if sun is mostly avoided. I live in a tropical country and I guess I cannot escape the warmth of the sun; so I do try to stay away from the sun.

I just bought these over the weekend, and I love the scent! To me, it smells like chocolate and coconut. I got Guava Gush and Mon Caramel. Love them! PS: if you put Elf's lip plumping gloss on top, they come off really easy 😊
Zebrena and Karynne should do more collabs in lipsticks reviews aside from the Maybelline and this one❤️😍😍.. The comparison between fair and brown skin really helps the viewer to evaluate what shade really suit someone..

That's why it's so important that brands swatch on EVERYONE. If they want everyone's money, they need to think of all skin tones when they make products.
I have brown skin and pigmented lips and these can work. I noticed that Karynne put on too little product by using a lip brush. The applicator provided holds more product and you can actually cover your lip color to a fully opaque coat, which she didn't do with the brush and I think that's why she got that result.
@@yachishairclips2250 I'm super pale and I bought that brown color. Looked mauve in the bottle but on my lips it looked brownish-gray, like I wiped mud on my lips. Very unflattering. I wish I had seen their video before buying. I would've gone for the dose of rose or the framboise frenzy. It's amazing how different it can look on different skin tones. We need more videos like this, especially for lipsticks.
As a darker skin chica, these are a no. Corrine and I are same complexion. Z, would Corrine be ok with you doing her makeup? That'd be super fun to see!

Thank you so much for doing this! I was so frustrated because I bought this lipstick in a color that I thought would be beautiful based on the online swatches and it looked brown-grey on me. Very unflattering. I wish I had seen this video first (I am super pale). The swatches online aren't accurate at all. It's so nice to be able to compare how it looks on lighter and darker skin tones before buying.
This is such a great idea. There are so many times I can only wear a few or one shade out of an entire collection. Please continue this as a series. Maybe incorporate eyeshadows. I love seeing you two together..

I love the normal line of these liquid lipsticks! I usually use e.l.f.'s Kiss It Goodbye lipstick remover and then the color comes off nicely. Putting a gloss on top also helps get the color off. It was awesome seeing Karynne back again so we can tell what these look like with her skin, too!

I also confidently bought them all for my niece (totally different complexion) to take to college for the year. She loves switching them up as much as I do. Thanks for doing these inclusive takes. That carmel shade is incredible on you - I need it! & I love this formula. These come off a lot easier if you just apply a balm like blistex or aquaphor. And how weird that they almost look like a completely different shades on both of your skin tones.

Love see the two different skin tones especially with lipsticks! These are my favorite lip formula! I use a little oil cleanser or the makeup easier to get them off. I was looking for the colors too and have not seen them yet, there are several that I want. Love your videos!!

Also: keep a bit of coconut or olive oil on the vanity when testing super stay matted. It breaks up the pigment and will hydrate a bit in between swatches. 😉
