ANOTHER BLAST FROM THE PAST and this time a real gem from the DISCO era..."BOOGIE OOGIE OOGIE" from "A TASTE OF HONEY"and who's with me loving this soul classic all over again on APRIL 27,2024👏👏👏
Solid Gold, Jeff Kutash, Soul Train, Dance Fever, and many others were the tv shows that you just couldn't stop watching, specially with those amazing and gorgeous female dance groups. A time when real music( Disco) take you up and let you feel hungry for more.🕺
Taste of Honey...OMG...one of the BEST if not the BEST Female Group ever... Those girls could Sing, Compose, Write and Play those Axes like no one else could...Late 70's and all THRU the 80's had the BEST Musical groups!!!!

One of my favorite tunes! I was awe struck when I saw two women playing guitars, I begged my parents to buy me a guitar. My mother thought I had been out in the sun too long...lol! My dad just stared at me, he didn't believe me. But, that Christmas I recieved a brand new Fender. I learned how to play lead and bass. Wow...some of the most memorable times of my life!

I let out my share of Boogie to this song back in the Disco times....What a special time that was but 75 now and I am all out of boogie......Sure miss those times, friends and past loves but none are forgotten.....Thank you Retro for such a great download.....
Called talent! I've never liked the sound of bass. (I think my ears have a hard time hearing it/picking it out of the mix.) But I love it in this song!
Y’all old fucks need to chill. It’s called the progression of technology. They didn’t have synths that produced every sound imaginable back in the 14th and 15th century. That doesn’t make them anymore talented than people in the 19th, 20th or 21st century. Music evolves but looks like you fuck heads don’t. That’s sad.
@@rollastoney lol what are you ? Like 6 lol obviously they have more talent. If you play a real instrument, write , and sing your own songs you have more talent than someone who just sings it.
A Taste Of Honey Boogie Oogie Oogie was a neat radio tune bringing in dance and disco to the late 1970s also (I think I heard this in 1975 when I was 14). It and Donna Summers, Chic and more brought disco floors to roller disco exercise floors using music like this for the beat! Thumbs up in another remarkable 1970s disco Era band until they return on dance floors again.
Good Friday night kids, 2024 and we are rocking this Ole skool classic on this Easter weekend. Everybody get on out there n boogie. My best Wolfman Jack voice intro
Absolutely! People looked out for each other, kids didn't live in fear of getting shot in class, we need to get right back to this feeling of love for our fellows.
None better musically and they still have the power to get folk up on the dance floor. I desperately miss the 70s.....75-79 especially but different times and much much better times too xxxxx
I was so in love with the Bass player back in the day. I had never seen two girls play those instruments the way they did. It wasn’t rare in those days to see acts that could play, sing and dance but these gals did it with style with perfection. Their voices were totally awesome and the band was on point every time they stepped on the stage. You certainly don’t see that today that’s for sure. Taste of Honey was one of the hottest bands ever in the best era ever. So many good times and fantastic memories of days gone by.
I was dancing in front of the tv when this originally aired. People weren't used to seeing black women bands and people still aren't today. We need more black women bands.

Sorry, this isn't a RAMONES or DICTATORS SONG. No offense, but this is NOT PUNK ROCK. Though, I'm actually certain, they could have pulled 53rd and 3rd off WITH 0 TROUBLE!!!
This song is so awesome. Great lyrics sung by great singers who where fantastic musicians and performers. They are the total package. After 40 years, this song endures and will never go out of style.
I’m from 1996 and not a lot of people my age feel this type of music but growing up with 4 older siblings and them listening to this got me into it, I feel this music real soothing.. feel the funky beat hopefully my almost 2 year old daughter will enjoy this music too❤️
This was disco or roller disco 1970-80s music. If there are clubs where you live or stages with musicians (such as Las Vegas areas) then often groups will come in and either perform their version or a DJ will bring it forth.
And this is why am I glad I was born in the early 80s because both my parents were teens when this came out so they played 70s music for us as much as the 80s and of course the 90s. But I imagine that growing up with this when it came out was fun.
Im 29, and I loving finding these old music videos of songs I grew up listening to, finally seeing the faces of the people who sung them and their styles.
This is a terrific dance song and I never get tired of this song. I go dancing every weekend and bands and/or DJs always play this song. Yes, boogie....till you just can't boogie no more.....
Nothing is ever perfect. Considering one was black and the other one was Native American, they probably had to live through tough times. Not that things have improved much (social issues seem to be improving as music goes to hell) but still, enough that they wouldn't want those times back.,
A Taste of Honey was formed in 1971 by associates Janice-Marie Johnson and Perry Kibble. In 1978, they had one of the best-known chart-toppers of the disco era, "Boogie Oogie Oogie"

70s and 80s great years for music. We can't forget Michael Jackson as well he changed music in its entirety. The most important artist of the 80s and in human history a legend he was. 80s was a new era of music. 90s were still decent just not the best but decent. And this female duo of music is outstanding and they were both gorgeous and knew how play the guitar. I love how they play the guitar. If I had a time machine I'd definitely be going back to the 70s and 80s.

My mother played this every Saturday when she was cleaning house ... great song
I still do!! Ran disco in small-town MN back in the day - and this song always brings life to me! #ListenToMyBassie!

Classy and sexy 👍
Wow didn’t realize they played their own instruments and sang. Impressive!
Right only a few artists know how to play an instrument now :(

Sort of can....add beauty, style, grace, and talent. Sort of not so much.
@@swervedriver5260 I meant to have better said that talent, grace' beauty and style are less common now. They're only "sort of" found in the music business compared to the past, IMO. A taste Of Honey were amazing. Are they still around?
@@donaldfewell8908
Only specials. They tour from time to time.
@@swervedriver5260 Thanks!
These Sister are VERY TALENTED and BEAUTIFUL, LOVE this song!!

Boy oh boy have I got news for you
Everybody here tonight must boogie
Let me tell ya, you are no exception to the rule
Get on up, on the floor
'Cause were gonna boogie oogie oogie
'Till you just can't boogie no more
Ah boogie, boogie no more
You can't boogie no more
Ah boogie, boogie no more
Listen to the music
There's no time to waste let's get the show on the road
Listen to the music and let your body flow
The sooner we break down the longer we got to groove
Listen to the music and let your body move
Now get on up, on the floor
'Cause were gonna boogie oogie oogie
Till you just can't boogie no more
Ah boogie, boogie no more

Why isn't Janice-Marie Johnson a household name? Not even a Wikipedia entry. Great singer, bassist songwriter.
I didn't know she also played the bass guitar. The musicians from the 1970s had so much talent
