It may have begun life as an April Fools joke, but the Holley Sky-Ram intake is the real deal-so real in fact, we put it to the test on the engine dyno at Westech Performance. Watch as our side-show spectacle turned performance part proves it might not be so ridiculous after all.

Guys are always talking about what is going to feel good when you're driving the vehicle everyday vs what is the most "racy" thing. That a Sky-Ram is the best truck intake EVER. I wanna see it with boost. I think the HP curve could be extended a while longer before it falls on it's face with forced induction. I really hope you guys do a Sky-Ram production run. I legit think it would sell out. Maybe experiment with a shorter production Sky-Ram that gives the performance and carries a little higher in the Rpms and still has the insane looks. Dear Holley, I think you should create a modular Hi-Ram intake where the middle of the runners has a bolted together flange, that way the intake could be run like normal and you could sell runner extensions in 5 and 10 inch increments, that way a guy could choose how much "Sky-Ram" he wants or he could even keep adding them until he has a Space-Ram. Seriously thought, you could increase the runner length by 5-10 inches at a time and tune the runner length for your application on the fly to what best suits you.

@@michaelblacktree thats not going to be the first wave, you can see the secondary rise at about 4700. Lets assume its about 3600rpm, thats close enough. In one revolution, 360°, sound will travel about 19 feet. Its a reflective wave so half that distance is 9.5'. Its the secondary or tertiary wave. Without the exact cam specs and centreline runner lengths its hard to know for sure. The graph makes me think its tertiary. The secondary is at about 4700 and would make the primary at about 10k rpm.

We need more of this experimentation. It's really cool to see comparisons between different lengths and diameters when it comes to manifolds and whatnot.

Holley products seem great. Hopefully ordering a terminator x max here in the near future for a project I'm working on. 3rd gen Dakota, LQ4, 4l80e, 4wd. It should be cool when it's done.

@@boost1728 run the math on it. Enthalpy of vaporization of Ethanol is 841kj/kg/k, specific heat capacity of air is 1.005 kj/kg/k. Even running a 10 :1 afr of Ethanol alone the drop in air temp would be over 80K. 80K is more like 144°f. You only need intake air temps below about 30f for ice to form.
Maybe math isnt your strong suit

There’s old Chrysler magazine advertising showing the tubes and a dyno chart that almost matches holleys dyno chat curve.
