      I kind of understand the purchase of one before this, as there is no other way to get through the demand. Also ADs are sent their inventory, to get their tool watches they have to take on so many non tool watches which are difficult to shift...

      JICKS TV The Root Beer is the best aesthetically but I think for everyday practicality and durability it will have to be the Batman. You can wear the batman everyday and it will still look new after a year. (For some people they don’t mind the scratches in which case you cannot say no to a Root Beer). I have been wearing a two-tone Datejust and Explorer for a few years, and have been on the list with my dealer for the SS/RG Root Beer, Batman and Pepsi (to get just one of the three of course). I just got the call from my dealer today that they have a CHNR ready for me to pick up. But I can't decide whether to take the CHNR now or wait some more and hope to eventually get either Batman or Pepsi. We know how backed up Rolex production is these days. Of course, I love the look of the CHNR, but the Batman/Pepsi might be better for day-to-day use (and I do have the Datejust and Explorer already). Help me decide!

    • @bullionseconds
      @bullionseconds  Před 3 lety +1

      If I’m honest I feel if you hesitate/pass on the CHNR they may not call you for a Batman or Pepsi....from my experience the Datejust is the first buy and CHNR is the second setting you up for the third... this is what increases your spend history with them.
      It’s like the Daytona I could have brought the initial Datejust and waited 15 years for the call for the Daytona and pass on every model offered between then, in which case I know they would never offer the Daytona to me. They only offer the Daytona to the people to finish off the whole collection they have accumulated.

    Agree with the Jubilee bracelet, but the hidden clasp one is the BEST of all by far! The current jubilee on Pepsi & Batman are scratch magnets! The double lock (hook and beak with clamshell) may give the impression of more security, but bracelets by definition are a continuous loop, so give me the hidden clasp every day please. Also, the hidden clasp would not have the “easy link” extension, which I never use and would gladly give that up.
    Also, I’ll disagree with you, and many others that claim, the GMT will display 3 time zones at once. The GMTs will display TWO time zones at once. Yes, you can then rotate the 24hr bezel to display a different time zone, but you instantly lose the one that was displayed and still are showing only TWO time zones at any given time. Don’t get me wrong, the feature is VERY useful and I use it ALL the time.
    Beautiful watch and great video. The complications on this watch are easy to use, easy to read, and very useful. Congratulations!

    • @bullionseconds
      @bullionseconds  Před 3 lety

      Love the comment and your views.. yes you are right only two time zones at any one moment, but the fact a third time zone can be calculated within a few seconds explains the 3 time zone feature many of us mention... but with that argument it could be argued it tells the time for unlimited time zones which I agree is true but a bit of a miss sell...
      However in terms of the clasp I feel a hidden clasp takes away from the sports feel, hence I am happy with the current clasp. Although the scratch magnet aspect is frustrating. I would even say the Datejust suits a non hidden clasp, I think it’s a feature that distinguishes and justifies the day-dates purpose and the additional money paid for it.

    TOP MARKS MATE. I THINK THAT THE OYSTER BRACELET THAT YOU HAVE ON THAT GMT ROOT BEER WATCH IS BETTER. IT IS THICKER & WIDER FOR THAT KIND OF CASE. THE JUBILEE BRACELET MAY BE SHINIER, BUT THE WATCHBAND IS A BIT NARROWER AND THINNER. THE OYSTER BRACELET HAS THAT DOUBLE LOCK AS YOU POINTED OUT WHICH MAKES IT MORE SECURE ON YOUR WRIST. THE JUBILEE BRACELET IS SECURE, BUT IT SOMETIMES FEELS LIKE THE WRONG JOLT COULD POP IT OFF YOUR WRIST.

My AD is a very good honest guy but said to me the Daytona is something that is the final piece, so I think I would need to get a few more until I’m given one. I’m intrigued if the Daytona precious metals on oyster flex have an as long wait/Strict purchase history with AD...

    • @PALWE
      @PALWE Před 3 lety +1

      @@bullionseconds it’s the original discontinued BLNR. Got it 4 years ago with barely any wait but at retail. I think Rolex had just started the game of removing supply to increase demand and insisting on full price.
      When I bought my BLNR, could have got a GMT black in jersey with 10% off, didn’t bother. Also was offered hulk and sub date at retail too both in window at 2016. I didn’t know I’d want more or that they’d become so popular . Just wanted my BLNR.
      When dealer says final piece, each persons final is different. If they think you’ll only buy one or no more watches before the Daytona, they will eventually sell you it. But not before. They listen to what you say in conversation so if you say you want 5 watches, they’ll make sure you buy all 5 you want before giving Daytona. It’s used as a persuader to buy other models. If you say you only want Daytona even if you want others, you’ll get the Daytona sooner. They also give you your least preferred model first, as there’s a higher probability you’ll keep buying if your preferred models are still not purchased .
