Today I'm reviewing Epidemic Sound with total honesty. I've used Epidemic sound religiously over the past 3 years to soundtrack my youtube videos and client productions with royalty free music. A lot has changed since I started, so now I want to answer the question, "is Epidemic sound worth it in 2024?" with my ultimate review for creators.
From their easy to understand user interface to the incredibly simple copyright clearing system, Epidemic Sound puts up good competition for other royalty free music services like Artlist, Soundstripe, and Musicbed.

And ES do not take a cut from any channel monetization, if you are monetised?
From the video, it sounds like ES wont ever touch the videos you have posted in the past. The songs oyu have downloaded im sure will be copyrighted once you cancel the subscription and try to post a video with them after you cancel. Just because you downloaded the tracks while subbed, doesnt meant you'll have them copyrighted free forever even if you cancel. That being said, i would just create a folder "ES" and keep everything in that, so if you cancel the sub, youll know which songs and SFX NOT to use again.
I use it now for about a week and i'm very happy with Epidemic sound! I did use Upbeat but I always felt limited. Of course I had to get used to the other interface. The Mobile App is a big plus point. I can easily prepare myself on the train for the music for the next video.

I have a question , let's assume I sub to epidemic , I post a video , will I get a claim from YT during checks and it gets whitelisted later or epidemic just makes sure I do not get any copyright claim at all. and if the first proccess happens , do I lose my money from my video since it's demonetized untill it gets cleared up
This is a good question- as I understand it, youtube returns ad revenue from the copyrighted period to creators once the claim is lifted (meaning you dont lose revenue) but I’m not positive that this is the case.
Best course of action to be safe is leave the video unlisted for a little bit to work out any monetization kinks before setting the video live. That way you wont risk loss of revenue do to copyright
you loose revenue - end of - this shower continuously abuse the DMCA system for 'administrative ease' - and they claim to be "hassle free" in their adverts. Not to mentions the adverse effect on your video right at the start which cannot be recovered from.

Yep! You can clear claims from past videos with the direct clear feature.

This was really helpful. Thank you for answering the questions I saw getting asked A LOT on other creators videos when it came to Epidemic sound. I really want to try the platform but the copyright claims from people who are actually subscribed makes me hesitate. I will try for a few months and see what my experience is like.
I wonder what would happen if I forget to make a payment. Can I still use that song I downloaded a year ago when I made a payment? Thank you for all that info.
You can only use songs as long as you have an active subscription, so if your account expires due to a missed payment, you can no longer use songs you previously downloaded

Thanks for the awesome video. I will try Epidemic Sound for 2024. I have a question… I want to make personal videos for myself, but once in a while, I get asked to help make client videos. What do I need to do if I use a music for a client one time out of the year?
Good question! For any client videos you will need a commercial subscription, but if you make client videos quite infrequently, you can also go the route of single track licensing with epidemic just for one video and pass the expense directly on to the client.

No you do not. You get 100% of your revenue
I got a subscription and they gave me a free tral for aweek and everything was ok l used the music in my videos on CZcams and l had no copyright, but now after paying one month subscription, l have a copy right, l don’t know why

yep awful for me too - the recommendations for your channel is absolutely INSANE - I have never and would never listen or download what it recommends for my channel - and yet it recommends nothing remotely like what I have used in the past
I use the epidemic music on Facebook and tiktok but CZcams, I don't trust it. I wish they would have another layer of protection and registration as an Epidemic Sound user and guarantee no copyright claims.
Why don’t you trust it? Have you ever had issues? To me there youtube clearing seems to be the same as any other platforms. Just curious :)

1. will my videos remained monetized - like will I still get paid fully for them or do they take a portion?
2. I read some people are getting copyrighted even though they are subscribed - do you think this is because multiple people are using the same sound? Because I wonder if I adjust it a bit like mix a nature sound over if that’ll solve the problem
1. Yes! Your videos remain fully monetized- epidemic does not take a cut.
2. Multiple people using the same song doesn’t have any effect on false claims. Many people experiencing claims have forgotten to link their channel in Epidemic’s safelist page, which results in a claim landing on the videos. Hope this helps! :)
