Must be hell of a sales person to convince 3 home owners right next to each other to get their drive way replaced.

The home owners actually were seeking out getting their driveways replaced and weren't approached by a sales person. The driveways that were replaced were all 30 years old and at the end of their lifespan. Mine in particular had significant alligator cracking and had been repaired multiple times with various cold patch products. It was just time for them to be replaced.

Probably cheaper for the company to come out all at once.

These asphalt driveways were in good condition, so why were they replaced ? They just needed a sealcoating.

They probably had no idea about seal coatings lmao

The driveways were all 30 years old and mine in particular had significant alligator cracking that may not have shown up on video. It had multiple chunks that had fallen out towards the bottom of the driveway that was repaired multiple times with cold patch. After 30 years, it was just time to fix it properly by getting it replaced.

Looks like what happened was this particular block had a poor base when original driveways were laid down; hence why multiple driveways done at the same time. All probably had driveways cracking in short period of time. Would have been cheaper for everyone to do at the same time, equipment already on site, plus better rate for asphalt. I had my driveway replaced about three years ago, besides a compaction crack that formed when they cut a big section out and laid new base down; the driveway is still in mint condition. Asphalt driveways are a good option, and the material is fully recyclable. The only maintenance I do is blow off leaves and debris that accumulates, and the original installer seals the driveway when 4 years is up. Sealing up cracks and having the whole driveway sealed are the major items to make a driveway last a really long time.

All of the driveways that were redone were were 30 years old at time of replacement. I wasn't the original owner of the house so I can't say when the cracking began, but at the time of replacement there was significant alligator type cracking in a few places on the driveway. We did get slight discount for each of us since they did multiple driveways on our block at the same time.

Houses look nice to include landscape...why asphalt driveways? Cobblestone or would look nice and last longer then the asphalt?

    Poor planning!
I do not know what was the timeline between prep work and asphalting, but looking at the tires marks, it was not done on the same day. They should have compacted the soil again before asphalting. in its current form, it is very likely the asphalt will crack again in a few years given that the ground under it was not compacted properly!
