You did a very nice job man! Looked to be what the customer wanted. CZcams is full of trolls and haters who offer no content of their own because they are too weak minded and dumb to actually pull anything off themselves. You make some nice videos and build some dope shit brother, keep up the good work! Nice music throughout as well!
Jay Roller thanks

Jay Roller say the clueless person that themself hasn’t uploaded anything or knowledgeable.i bet your American with a normal job at some fast food outlet on 7 an hours for that past 15 years or going to job to job and no skills or have been in a trade or industry.
Jay Roller I agree people where saying it looked really rough but he said the customer wanted a rough look and I’m sure it was really nice after it set
Well facts are facts not opinions there are no relief joints.
I’m a concrete contractor veteran and we always used to do it that way when small clients asking specifically to do it the way they wanted and willing to pay
Perfect music choice and editing with this job - well done!
This music is from Franz Liszt: Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in concert form. The version for a single piano is way better and even more famous.
You’re one hardworking sob, an artist with heavy equipment! 🤙 Great Chanel. Love all your videos!
Camarata has just removed the blacktop, replaced it with gravel and a concrete apron.
Andrew you give a whole new meaning to the use of mini excavator.... We just got 1 here at the rv resort where I work and live, it truly makes my job so much easier. Great videos and really enjoy watching you do your thing. Great work ethics
ok so no one mentioned how bad ass the cement truck was?
yes, and too bad it was wasted on a job like this
LOL! I was totally watching the concrete guy clean up and get paid instead of the finishing job. Everything about that machine and operator impressed me.
smooth
He had skills he made it look easy
I was like how many yrds that truck hold?
It is three years later and I am wondering did the tree live?
Great question! Lol
yes. he redid the fence on the far right at the end of the drive way, planted new trees then walked around showing all the other trees he planted including this one
It doesn't make it. czcams.com/video/ouZMqo-XYoQ/video.html @ 22:08
See below. The Red Maple did not survive. But it would have had a better chance if he had started preparing about six months before digging it up to transplant it. See more at homeguides.sfgate.com/transplant-maple-trees-41935.html
..... me too....did the Red Maple survive?.
I know Andrew hated having “Harvey the Happy Homeowner” standing there watching him while the whole concrete pour was going on.
I thought he was going to spear him at 12:55 and just be done with it. lol
What I can't stand nowadays too is where the owner has a webcam pointed where you're working and feels the need to send you text messages all day commenting on what you're doing, and by the time you notice them over the noise time has passed and you're like, what the fuck is he talking about, now I have to call this guy and figure out what this no-context comment is about.
Awesome pouring this on your own. My family would have been all hands on deck and in full panic mode haha.
Appreciate the wonderful music you have in all of these videos! - A Music Teacher
You moving that poor tree looked like Peter on family guy moving that whale of the beach with that forklift 😂 good job though I hate black top !!!
:-D that is rip AF
What did blacktop ever do to you?
I just love this. Starting with the music, the tree saving, and the amazing artistic ability with the backhoe. That is impressive and makes me happy! Wish you lived in the Pacific Northwest!
Nice work Andrew. I am learning a lot from you. I like how you re use material from the customer's site whenever possible. Wasnt expecting you to be able to use any of that blacktop. Really fun to watch this video.
I like how you recycled that old asphalt to build up your substrate. A lot of contractors would have insisted on bringing in fill for that task. Great common sense approach.
dude that stuff with the front end loader and backhoe to build and reinforce an errosion barrier was a thing of beauty to watch
Nice job, looks good !
Andrew and classical music are a fantastic combination, i so enjoyed it!
No grade pins. Never pulled a screed board. Bet that has some puddles in it. No expansion joints. No edging. No stress cuts . Not good!
Tim Bell didn’t even pull up the metal mess incorporating it into the concrete either, plus he cut the boards and not the grade. Total hack job
as a concrete company owner this hurt me to watch
No offense to the guy he’s a 1 man beast but I been pouring flat work for years now that was pretty hard to watch
I understand your points Tim Bell and others ... but for you to make your comments you would really have to have been in on the negotiations for the job with Andrew and the customer. I am sure if the budget was unlimited you would be right. But to do what you are saying it would have cost more for sure! My picture is Andrew gives a lot of value to the customer - doing all that you said may have blown the budget completely!
you don't know that with editing a very long video into a shorter one ... you are just assuming that !
I've seen Andrew pour on lots of videos. I'm guessing the convo went something like...
"The buyer of the house wants the asphalt out and cement in. We, like 95% of America, are one sick day away from forclosure. I have $90 to spare. Can you do it?"
Andrew: "Hold my beer."
LMAO hold my beer..
If the guy was that financially strapped, he didn't need to do the driveway. Just sayin'!
@@Rattlerjake1 Some people are just cheap though, Andrew probably just does the job the best he can with the price given. I used to self employed and did that a lot, everything doesn't have to be done perfectly, good enough is what most people want
@@Rattlerjake1 did you notice he had another worker cleaning the pool in the background
@@Rattlerjake1 you need to sell the house , you do what you have to. your ignorance and arrogance is rather disgusting.
The amount of effort you put into this job is incredible. Very hard worker. Props to you
Hi Andrew, it would be nice to see this driveway after 3 years now if there really occurred massive problems with cracks because of missing expansion joints
I would hope they got cut in after the fact
Another amazing video!
P.S. That tree in the beginning is not a red maple (Acer rubrum) it is actually a Crimson King Maple (Acer platanoides)
The Crimson King is a popular shade tree cultivated from the Norway Maple. This slower-growing tree offers unique, attractive purple foliage throughout the season. The tree is noted for its striking color and hardiness. Crimson King trees have a shallow root system and like drier soil.
I’m glad everyone in the comments is a pro a pouring driveways
I'm not a pro which makes it even sadder that this person did such a bad job. If even a novice picks up on the short cuts and flaws of this job then in many ways I would be more qualified than the person in this video.
Or some know enough that its easy to spot the wrongs. So many wrongs
you dont need to be a michelin star chef to know when food tastes like crap
i looked for all their expert video's but couldn't locate any, great work as always Andrew
Michael you shouldn't compliment crap work as all it does is make them assume they are doing a good job. No owner would request subpar work and be happy with what was placed. I would make my own guys rip out a whole pad if they did something like that and probably fire the bunch of them for even thinking that this is acceptable practice.
Lol . Andrew you made my day. I enjoy watching your videos. There’s something about your concrete pours tho that makes it special. Love it. Have a great day sir.

There is nothing wrong with andrews work or attitude to work.he is willing to help out his customers and sometimes does more for them.
Whos to say that could of been just a temp job until customer saves for something else.
You people don't know what the agreement between andrew and customers is.🤔🤔
Considering he had the pool boy back there working. I highly doubt he is hurting on a payment

We all know damn well that if there is a problem with that pour in the future, Andrew will make it right. No Doubt.
well said Andrew is a real pro but can only do what the customer wants or can afford
That goes for any job. I've had jobs where I just couldn't do it, because of the short cuts they wanted me to take. Or the budget, etc. We work with the budget the customers give us. Also we never know the situation people are in, in these videos. There are so many variables to consider before passing any judgment.
3:00 love your music selections
the music so relaxing great video thanks for saving tree
Just a real dude who gets the job done. So hyper caffeinated intros. Thanks for that.
love the videos...music and your creative editing...start off my day with the music which puts me in a trance...thanks
Hungarian Rhapsody #2. I enjoyed the music while watching you work.
I like how you saved the perfectly good tree instead of tossing it. Don't see that too often.
Beautiful Red Maple. The music, as others have said, adds to the visualization and diversity of the property and project. Dancing to the Machines!
Haha I love how the dog just ran across it as you got finished! Good work man!
I appreciate you trying to save the tree! That’s awesome
Watching Andrews later videos, I think he learned better techniques and definitely does better with his concrete work. Property maintenance is a constantly learning environment and Andrew tries to do everything he can for his customers. You can now see him raising the mesh and framing more accurately. I do admire his amazing skill level in heavy machinery operation and he does make people's yards look much nicer all the time! The thing to remember is that in circumstances like this where an owner obviously wants to cut corners, it is best to either not take the work, or eat some of the profit and dispose of the debris yourself. I suspect the owner did not want to pay to remove the debris? But regardless dumping the debris on those trees was not good for the trees health. As far as that beautiful decorative Maple, I suspect that you probably carry a few blankets these days for instances like this. Again there is a learning curve because every job differs. But the thing to always remember is that owners who cut corners like this will be the first to tell everyone that you suggested the shortcuts once they start to experience negative repercussions from their dumb choices. They will always claim that they are the victim and that you caused the problems.
Sometimes you got to stick to your expertise
You can’t learn overnight. Offer a big discount, let the customer know you’re learning, and have them sign a contract. It takes time but getting out there and doing it is the only way you get better & clearly from his more recent videos you can see he’s doing juuuuuuust fine and has gotten pretty decent at all of it.
Mr. Andrew keep up the good work and the great videos you are giving us.
Great Job Andrew! Some us realize that you are not pouring a polished concrete floor in penthouse apartment. I bet your customer was happy with the job and happy with the price. Incredible seeing what 1 guy (usually) can do all by himself will older machines and cutting corners and saving the customers some money along the way.
Loving the music in this one!
🤔
You do damned fine work and I love classical music on your soundtrack. Well done.
Great job with the skidsteer and escavator I'll give you an A+ for that.... the slab you poured well.... E for effort.... but you kept me around watching the whole thing so well done.
Wow can’t believe you poured that much crete on your own. You really are a machine. Unfortunately you have turned me into a lazy bastard. I thought your house was the container castle :D

I wonder if the house in this video is his family house right?
It's not how the job was done. Its how the customer wanted the job done and how much would it cost and what will the customer get for the Price he is charging for different types of work.
Dear Andrew: You did Yeoman's work!! You Delivered Results! Owners/powerz (i guess) did not want to pay for removal of every element to a depth of 18 inches. You are the man, and if anybody ever tried removal of black top, it is very demanding and annoying! Carry On!
Dea@@johnbasiglone1219: When I indicated yeoman's work, the implications was in reference not to the work of a Master, (which Andrew said was not what the owners were requesting, at that time, but rather a Strong Result was needed, that would endure, in a context, in a harsh environment, and (if you think about it) could be fixed later, at a "Master Level" because it was not 10 inches thick. That is all I meant by the word "yeoman." Hope that this makes some sense to you. I tend to over build and over perfect everything...which is not really always Smart. Thanks for casting more light on the job, as Filmed by Andrew...the real world faced by contractors is always a challenge...especially for all them that are Capable of maximum performance!! Regards to you, sir!
Andrew has a great eye for landscaping and the skills on equipment to build it.
That roughly 18'x50' concrete pad?
Single person job where I normally see 5+ pet job... You sir... I would hire you any day of the week for a project. Great work!
Mike Mcneil thanks.
exactly my thoughts.
You say it’s what the customer wanted BUT as a professional you should educate your customer or at the very least do a job that you are proud of.
You rolled out wire mesh then left it on the dirt instead of lifting it into the middle of the slab.
Where the grade was too high you cut your form instead of doing a proper excavation to get a 6” slab.
The asphalt broke up because the base material was not the right depth or material to properly support a plyable surface like asphalt so it sure as hell isn’t going to support a thin unreinforced layer of concrete.
Your “broom” finish has so many high ridges the customers snow shovel will catch on it every time he tries to clear the snow.
You avoided hauling the old asphalt away by expanding the driveway but dumped it over the trees drip zone which will seriously stress those trees.
You say it’s what the customer wanted BUT when it all starts to fall apart the customer won’t be saying “Oh well, that’s what I asked for.”
Wayne Crews ,but till last longer than the money...............
How do you know he didn't explain all that to the customer? Stop assuming.
AequitasSaints if he did and that’s still what the customer wanted, pass on the job. If not, that customer will be bad-mouthing him a year down the line when that concrete is all broke to shit and his trees are dead. Do the job right or just don’t do it.
@@rogermurph101 turn down money, to do a job to the customers standards? If he wanted the job done that way and still bad mouths him then that's bs.
As a fellow contractor I cover my ass and have these convos with them. I have bills to pay as so does he.
"do the job or just don't do it" is ignorant at best.
AequitasSaints so, you would willingly do shoddy work if an ignorant customer says that’s what they want? You then, would be a contractor to avoid. Yes, you turn down that job. Especially in today’s world with social media. Keep doing shit work and your reputation will be such that you won’t have any work to turn down. Have some pride for fucks sake.
Good job fixing up the driveway. I used to help my dad growing up in his business doing that stuff. As a recommendation, I would advise to use a motorized trowel. It's bulky and heavy, but it does save time and give a nice finish to the concrete. Biggest problem though is the price tag....
Good job on the editing and the music.Good combination of sped up time and real time, didn't drag it out.You did that driveway like someone ironing a shirt..

Yeah sorry mate you truly do need to work on your concreting. Screed first then bull float then put your texture on it whether that be broom, sponge, swirl etc. and concrete cuts or v join it mate

this is freakin charming to watch - I've never called anything like this before!
You did a good job by yourself ignore the haters thumbs up ☺
Once a tree gets barked up like that it's not going to make it
It's been looking ok for months now. It just lost its leaves for the winter (which is a good sign, its bad when the leaves die, than stay on the tree), I have been watering it. Ill see if it gets new leaves next spring. There is another video, (willow tree) where there's a nice shot of it months after moving it.
As long as the bark isnt cut all the way around the tree still gets nutrients so its not gonna be the bark that kills it. Maybe the time of year but he didnt have any choice on that. I guess he could have made fire wood out of it and if it was to die he still can. I bet it lives.
It wont kill the tree.. tree will be fine. As long as he didnt dig more than an inch into it
Not ideal damaging the bark. Next one just use a blanket to protect the bark. Maples are tenacious and this tree is highly likely to survive. Great colour. The bark will look really good and knarly after 5 years too! Plenty of roots there and because it grew into the box they were confined so pretty much all of the roots were retained! Brilliant! :0)
It only made it two years: czcams.com/video/ouZMqo-XYoQ/video.html
As usual, great vid with nice music.
I like these time lapse videos with classical music kinda works well. Heavy machinery with soft music.
I think - with all the critic comments in mind - people seem to forget that you get what you're willing to pay for. If you want a Ferrari, you have to pay the price of a Ferrari, simple as that.
I don't even know what they are criticizing on this one. What do they want to see, more concrete and rebar? I think its sufficient, ill have to go back there this spring and film it to show them that it didn't crack. I would have had no problem doing more materials, that really wouldn't have effected the labor much. Some people think the finish is to rough maybe. The guy was standing right there while I was doing it, and said he wanted it like that. I could have made it smoother, or polished it.
Me neither. I'm no construction worker, but my uncle was and he had his own company where I worked in the summer as a teenager, and we did a lot of work like this, and the same way, so I think it's okay.
I also noticed that it seems like the base layer, under the blacktop, was compressed gravel so it would be very stabile to pour concrete on top of that, and although it's a bit hard to see in the video exactly how much you poured on, I would guess about 3 inc. or so, and that's more than adequate for the kind of load this will have to endure. Keep up the good work, I love your videos. Cheers.

@@jrand2631 no. He didnt tie the new slab to the old, it will heave. With the rebar flat on the ground it isnt able to do its job, it will crack (just like the asphalt). No relief joints to control the cracking and heaving. The finish... theres a process to it not just for looks. The forms... theres a reason for them beyond looks. How bout watershedding? Is it gonna drain the rain into the garage? He dont know cuz he didnt do (didnt film at any rate) the proper prep.
